⁴ for the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but powerful to God for bringing down of strongholds,

²² and Moses was taught in all wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was powerful in words and in works.

¹³ neither present you your members instruments of unrighteousness to the sin, but present yourselves to God as living out of the dead, and your members instruments of righteousness to God;

¹² the night did advance, and the day came nigh; let us lay aside, therefore, the works of the darkness, and let us put on the armour of the light;

¹⁸ for the word of the cross to those indeed perishing is foolishness, and to us -- those being saved -- it is the power of God, ¹⁹ for it has been written, 'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the intelligence of the intelligent I will bring to nothing;' ²⁰ where is the wise? where the scribe? where a disputer of this age? did not God make foolish the wisdom of this world? ²¹ for, seeing in the wisdom of God the world through the wisdom knew not God, it did please God through the foolishness of the preaching to save those believing. ²² Since also Jews ask a sign, and Greeks seek wisdom, ²³ also we -- we preach Christ crucified, to Jews, indeed, a stumbling-block, and to Greeks foolishness, ²⁴ and to those called -- both Jews and Greeks -- Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God,

⁵ that your faith may not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

⁷ who does serve as a soldier at his own charges at any time? who does plant a vineyard, and of its fruit does not eat? or who does feed a flock, and of the milk of the flock does not eat?

⁵ not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything, as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God,

⁷ And we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us;

⁷ in the word of truth, in the power of God, through the armour of the righteousness, on the right and on the left,

³ since a proof you seek of the Christ speaking in me, who to you is not infirm, but is powerful in you, ⁴ for even if he was crucified from infirmity, yet he does live from the power of God; for we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him from the power of God toward you.

¹⁰ because of this, these things -- being absent -- I write, that being present, I may not treat any sharply, according to the authority that the Lord did give me for building up, and not for casting down.

¹³ because of this take you up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to resist in the day of the evil, and all things having done -- to stand. ¹⁴ Stand, therefore, having your loins girt\'7bgirded\'7d about in truth, and having put on the breastplate of the righteousness, ¹⁵ and having the feet shod in the preparation of the good-news of the peace; ¹⁶ above all, having taken up the shield of the faith, in which ye shall be able all the fiery darts of the evil one to quench, ¹⁷ and the helmet of the salvation receive, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the saying of God, ¹⁸ through all prayer and supplication\'7bpetitions, requests\'7d praying at all times in the Spirit, and in regard to this same, watching in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints --

⁸ and we, being of the day -- let us be sober, putting on a breastplate of faith and love, and an helmet -- a hope of salvation,

¹⁸ This charge I commit to you, child Timothy, according to the prophesies that went before upon you, that you may war in them the good warfare,

³ you, therefore, suffer evil\'7bhardship\'7d as a good soldier of Jesus Christ;
