¹⁹ I speak after the manner of men, because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as you have yielded your members as slaves to uncleanness and to ever increasing iniquity; so now yield your members as slaves to righteousness, leading to holiness.

⁵ But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unrighteous who takes vengeance? (I speak as a man)

¹³ Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness: but yield yourselves to God, as those who are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

¹⁶ Do you not know that if you yield yourselves as slaves to obey someone, you are slaves of the one you obey; whether of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? ¹⁷ But thanks be to God, that you who were once the slaves of sin, have obeyed from the heart that standard of teaching which was entrusted to you.

²⁶ Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness: for we do not know how to pray as we ought: but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

¹ We then who are strong ought to bear with the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

⁶ Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

¹¹ And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

⁸ Do I say these things merely on human authority? or does not the law say the same?

³² If for merely human reasons I fought beasts in Ephesus, what advantage is that to me, if the dead are not raised? let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die. ³³ Do not be deceived: bad company corrupts good morals.

¹⁵ See to it that no man fails to obtain the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up should trouble you, and thereby defile many;

² That he may live the rest of his time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. ³ For the time past was sufficient for doing the things the Gentiles desire to do: living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, revelling, carousing, and abominable idolatries. ⁴ They think it strange that you do not run with them into the same excess of dissipation, and they speak evil of you:
