¹² He who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall never go out of it: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I will also write upon him my new name.

⁹ And when James, Cephas, and John, who were reputed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship; that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised.

²⁶ But the Jerusalem which is above is free, and she is our mother. ²⁷ For it is written, Rejoice, you who are barren and bear no children; break forth and shout, you who are not in the pangs of birth: for the desolate woman has many more children than she who has a husband.

The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. ¹⁷ And he measured its wall, a hundred and forty-four cubits, according to man's measurement, which the angel was using. ¹⁸ And the wall was made of jasper: and the city of pure gold, like clear glass. ¹⁹ And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; ²⁰ The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. ²¹ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each gate made of a single pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. ²² And I saw no temple in it: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. ²³ And the city had no need of the sun, or the moon, to shine upon it: for the glory of God is its light, and the Lamb its lamp. ²⁴ And the nations shall walk by its light: and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory into it. ²⁵ And its gates shall never be shut by day: and there shall be no night there. ²⁶ And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. ²⁷ But nothing impure shall enter into it, nor shall any man who commits shameful acts, or who lies: but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

⁴ And they shall see his face; and his name shall be upon their foreheads.
