¹² Then Peter arose, and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering to himself at that which had come to pass.

³ Therefore Peter went forth, with the other disciple, toward the tomb. ⁴ So they both ran together: and the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the tomb. ⁵ And he stooped down, and looked in, and saw the linen wrappings lying there; but he did not go in. ⁶ Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb, and saw the linen wrappings lying there, ⁷ And the cloth, which had been around his head, was not lying with the linen wrappings, but was rolled up in a place by itself. ⁸ Then the other disciple, who came first to the tomb, went in also and he saw, and believed. ⁹ For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. ¹⁰ Then the disciples went away again to their own homes.
