²⁶ He also hoped that Paul would give him money: therefore he sent for him often, and conversed with him.

² And when he was called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that because of you we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy reforms are done for this nation by your provision, ³ We accept this always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.

¹⁷ Now, after many years, I came to bring to my nation alms and offerings.

⁹ Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexual offenders,

⁵ For this you know: that no sexually immoral or impure person, or covetous man, (for such a man is an idolater,) has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. ⁶ Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

⁹ But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge men into ruin and destruction. ¹⁰ For the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil: and some, by craving it, have wandered from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

³ And in greed they shall exploit you with false words: the judgment against them from of old does not linger, and their condemnation does not slumber.

¹⁴ Having eyes full of adultery, who cannot cease from sin; enticing unstable souls: they have a heart trained in greed; cursed children: ¹⁵ Who have forsaken the right way, and have gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
