¹⁴ For the love of Christ controls us; because we are convinced that one died for all, therefore all died:

³⁷ He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. ³⁸ And he who does not take up his cross, and follow after me, is not worthy of me.

²⁸ Even as the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.

⁴² And when they were unable to repay, he freely forgave them both. Now, which of them will love him most? ⁴³ Simon answered, I suppose the one whom he forgave the most. And he said to him, You have judged correctly. ⁴⁴ And he turned to the woman, and said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I entered your house: you gave me no water for my feet, but she has washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with her hair. ⁴⁵ You gave me no kiss: but since I came in this woman has not ceased to kiss my feet. ⁴⁶ You did not anoint my head with oil: but this woman has anointed my feet with perfume. ⁴⁷ Therefore I say to you, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but he who is forgiven little, loves little.

²⁴ For this son of mine was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

³² But we had to make merry, and be glad: for this brother of yours was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

²⁹ But they urged him strongly, saying, Stay with us: for it is getting toward evening, and the day is nearly over. And he went in to stay with them.

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.

²⁵ Truly, truly, I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and those who hear shall live.

²⁵ Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live:

⁵⁰ Nor do you consider that it is expedient for you, that one man should die for the people, so that the whole nation should not perish. ⁵¹ And this he did not speak of his own accord: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation; ⁵² And not for that nation only, but also that he should gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.

²¹ He who has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is who loves me: and he who loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. ²² Judas, not Iscariot, said to him, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loves me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

¹⁵ So when they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He said to him a second time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Tend my sheep. ¹⁷ He said to him a third time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Do you love me? And he said to him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep.

¹⁹ But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, judge for yourselves. ²⁰ But we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

⁵ And when Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself to preaching, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.

² But we are sure that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who do such things.

¹⁵ But the free gift is not like the offence. For if through the offence of the one many died, how much more did the grace of God, and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to many.

⁷ For none of us lives for himself, and none of us dies for himself. ⁸ For if we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord: therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. ⁹ For to this end Christ both died, and rose to life, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

¹⁴ But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

²² If any man does not love the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come.

⁷ For if the ministry of death, written and engraved in stone, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance; and that glory fading:

⁹ For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, far more does the ministry of righteousness exceed it in glory.

⁸ I do not speak this as a commandment, but to use the zeal of others to test the sincerity of your own love. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that through his poverty you might become rich.

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

¹ And you were dead in trespasses and sins; ² In which you walked in times past, according to the ways of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience. ³ Among them we all lived in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, like the others. ⁴ But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us, ⁵ Even when we were dead in transgressions, has made us alive together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;)

¹⁸ May be able to comprehend, with all the saints, its breadth, and length, and height, and depth; ¹⁹ And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fulness of God.

²⁴ Grace be to all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.

¹³ And you, being dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he has made alive together with him, having forgiven us all transgressions;

⁶ Who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony at the proper time.

⁶ But she who lives in self-indulgence is dead while she lives.

³ For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, slaves to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy; hated, and hating one another.

⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made for a little while lower than the angels, crowned with glory and honour because he suffered death; that he, by the grace of God, should taste death for every man.

¹⁰ For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget the work and love which you have shown for his name's sake in having ministered to the saints, as you continue to do.

⁸ Though you have not seen him, you love him; and though you do not see him now, yet you believe in him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy:

¹ My little children, these things I write to you, that you may not sin. And if any man does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: ² And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

¹⁹ We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies under the power of the wicked one.
