⁶ Who has also made us able ministers of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.

⁵² Then he said to them, Therefore every scribe who is instructed about the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is an owner of a house, who brings forth out of his treasure things new and old.

²⁸ For this is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many for the forgiveness of sins.

²⁴ And he said to them, This is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many.

²⁰ Likewise he took the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood.

²¹ For as the Father raises up the dead, and gives them life; even so the Son gives life to whom he will.

⁶³ The spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing: the words I speak to you are spirit and life.

⁵ By whom we have received grace and apostleship, to bring about the obedience of faith among all the nations, for his name's sake;

²⁷ And shall not the physically uncircumcised, if he keeps the law, judge you, who, though you have the letter of the law and circumcision, are transgressors of the law? ²⁸ For he is not a Jew, who is one outwardly; neither is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh: ²⁹ But he is a Jew, who is one inwardly; and circumcision is of the heart, by the spirit, and not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.

²⁰ Therefore, by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified in his sight: for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

¹⁵ Because the law brings wrath: but where there is no law, there is no transgression.

¹⁷ (As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations,) before him in whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead, and calls into being those things which are not.

⁶ But now we have been released from the law, dead to that which held us bound; so that we serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

⁹ For I was once alive without the law: but when the commandment came, sin became alive, and I died. ¹⁰ And the commandment, which was intended to bring life, I found to bring death. ¹¹ For sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me.

² For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

⁵ Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each his task?

¹⁰ According to the grace of God which is given to me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds upon it. But let every man take heed how he builds upon it.

²⁵ In the same manner he took the cup, after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.

²⁸ And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that workers of miracles, then those with gifts of healing, helpers, administrators, and those who speak in different tongues.

⁴⁵ And so it is written, The first man, Adam, was made a living being; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.

⁷ For if the ministry of death, written and engraved in stone, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance; and that glory fading:

⁹ For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, far more does the ministry of righteousness exceed it in glory.

¹⁴ But their minds were hardened: for to this day the same veil remains unlifted at the reading of the old covenant; because it is only removed through Christ.

¹⁸ And all these things are from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; ¹⁹ That is, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not counting men's sins against them; and he has committed to us the word of reconciliation. ²⁰ Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were making his appeal through us: we beg you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.

¹⁰ For all who depend on the works of the law are under a curse: for it is written, Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do all things which are written in the book of the law. ¹¹ But it is evident that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, for: The just shall live by faith. ¹² But the law does not rest on faith: rather, The man who does these things shall live by them.

²¹ Is the law then against the promises of God? Absolutely not: for if there had been a law given which could impart life, then righteousness truly would have been through the law.

¹ And you were dead in trespasses and sins;

⁵ Even when we were dead in transgressions, has made us alive together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;)

⁷ Of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the working of his power.

¹¹ And he gave some as apostles; and some as prophets; and some as evangelists; and some as pastors and teachers; ¹² For the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ:

²⁵ Of which I was made a minister, according to the commission of God, which was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known; ²⁶ That is, the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but has now been made manifest to his saints; ²⁷ To whom God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the riches of the glory of this mystery; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. ²⁸ Him we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. ²⁹ For this I labour, striving according to his power, which works mightily within me.

¹¹ According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. ¹² And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, for he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

⁶ If you point out all these things to the brethren, you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished by the words of faith and of good doctrine, which you have been following.

¹¹ Of this gospel I was appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher,

²² By this has Jesus become the guarantee of a better covenant.

⁶ But now he has obtained a ministry that is as much superior to the old as the covenant of which he is the mediator is superior, for it was established upon better promises. ⁷ For if the first covenant had been faultless, then there would have been no occasion sought for a second. ⁸ For he finds fault with them, saying, Behold, the days will come, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: ⁹ Not like the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they did not continue in my covenant, and I turned away from them, says the Lord. ¹⁰ For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:

¹⁵ And for this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions committed under the first covenant, those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance. ¹⁶ For where there is a will, the death of the testator must be established. ¹⁷ For a will is in force only upon death: it has no strength at all while the testator lives. ¹⁸ Therefore, even the first covenant was not inaugurated without blood. ¹⁹ For when Moses had spoken every commandment to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, ²⁰ Saying, This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you to keep.

²⁴ And to Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, that speaks better things than that of Abel.

²⁰ Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the eternal covenant,

¹⁸ For Christ died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit,

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life;
