¹² Fight the good fight of faith; lay hold on eternal life, to which you are called, to which you made the good confession before many witnesses.

⁸ And I say to you, Whoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: ⁹ But he who denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose. ²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. ³⁰ And whom he predestined, those he also called: and whom he called, those he also justified: and whom he justified, those he also glorified.

²³ That he might make known the riches of his glory to the vessels of mercy, which he had prepared beforehand for glory, ²⁴ Even us, whom he has called, not only from among the Jews, but also from among the Gentiles?

⁹ That if you shall confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart man believes and is made righteous; and with the mouth confesses and is saved.

²⁵ And every man who competes is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown; but we an imperishable. ²⁶ Therefore, I do not run aimlessly; and I do not fight as one who beats the air:

⁷ By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left,

¹³ Because of the proof given by this service, they will glorify God because of your obedience to the gospel of Christ, which you profess, and for your liberal contribution to them, and to all;

³ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh: ⁴ For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but are mighty before God for the pulling down of strongholds. ⁵ We cast down arguments, and every lofty thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. ¹¹ Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the powers of darkness of this world, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. ¹³ Therefore, take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand on the evil day, and having done all, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand therefore, having your loins girded about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; ¹⁵ And your feet shod with the readiness that is from the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ In addition to all these, take up the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. ¹⁷ And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: ¹⁸ Praying always in the Spirit with all manner of prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert in it with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints;

¹² Not that I have already attained it, or have already become perfect: but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus laid hold of me. ¹³ Brethren, I do not consider myself to have laid hold of it yet: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth to those things which are ahead, ¹⁴ I press on toward the goal for the prize, to which God has called me upward in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to this; and be thankful.

¹² That you would walk in a manner worthy of God, who has called you into his kingdom and glory.

⁸ But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation. ⁹ For God has not appointed us to suffer wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁴ To this he called you through our gospel, to obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies once made about you, that by them you might fight the good fight;

¹³ I charge you in the sight of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession;

¹⁹ Laying up for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.

⁹ Who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not by virtue of our works, but because of his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,

⁷ I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

¹⁴ For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold our first confidence steadfast to the end;

¹⁸ That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us might have a strong encouragement.

²³ I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set at liberty; with whom, if he arrives shortly, I will come to see you.

⁹ Do not return evil for evil, or insult for insult: but instead with blessing; knowing that you were called to this, that you should inherit a blessing.

¹⁰ But the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

²⁵ And this is the promise which he himself has given us: eternal life.

³ Therefore, remember what you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If you will not awaken, I will come like a thief, and you shall not know at what hour I will come upon you.
