Do you not realize that Jesus Christ is in you, unless indeed you fail the test? ⁶ But I trust that you shall know that we have not failed the test. ⁷ Now I pray to God that you do no wrong; not that we should appear approved, but that you should do that which is right, even if we appear to be failures.

¹ Paul, an apostle, (not sent from men, nor by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)

¹¹ But I want you to know, brethren, that the gospel which I preached is not from man. ¹² For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came by revelation from Jesus Christ.

²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, fits of rage, selfishness, dissensions, factions,

⁴ But let every man test his own work, and then he can take pride in himself, and not in comparison to another.

²⁰ Which he exerted in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ Far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. ²² And he has put all things under his feet, and has appointed him to be the head over all things for the church, ²³ Which is his body, the fulness of him who fills all things everywhere.

¹⁵ But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all things into him, who is the head, that is, Christ:

¹ Therefore be imitators of God, as dear children; ² And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice, a sweet smelling aroma to God.

²² Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. ²³ For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church, his body: and he himself is its saviour. ²⁴ Therefore, as the church is subject to Christ, so let wives be to their own husbands in everything.

⁴ Let each of you not only look to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. ⁵ Let this attitude be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

⁷ But made himself of no reputation, and took upon himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: ⁸ And being found in form as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. ⁹ Therefore, God has highly exalted him, and given him the name which is above every name: ¹⁰ That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth; ¹¹ And every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹⁷ Brethren, join together in following me, and note those who walk according to our example.

¹⁸ He is also the head of the body, the church: he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have preeminence.

¹⁰ And you are complete in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.

¹⁹ And not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, supported and knit together by its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God.

¹⁸ Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

⁶ And you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word despite much affliction, with joy from the Holy Spirit:

¹⁴ For you, brethren, became followers of the churches of God in Christ Jesus which are in Judaea: for you also have suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they have from the Jews:

⁶ But now that Timothy has come from you to us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and love, and reported that you always remember us kindly, greatly desiring to see us, as we also desire to see you:

¹ Furthermore, we urge you, brethren, and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you have learned from us how you ought to walk and to please God, as indeed you are doing, so you would do more and more. ² For you know what commandments we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who sleep in Jesus.

¹⁶ For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

¹⁰ When he shall come to be glorified in his saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all those who believe, including you, because our testimony among you was believed.

² That you not be quickly shaken in mind, or alarmed, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter purporting to be from us, saying that the day of Christ is at hand. ³ Let no man deceive you in any way: for that day shall not come, until there is first a falling away, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition;

¹⁵ Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold to the traditions which you have been taught by us, whether by word, or by letter.

⁶ Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who is idle and does not walk according to the tradition which you received from us.

⁹ Not because we do not have the right, but to make ourselves an example for you to follow.

¹¹ Let a woman learn in quietness and full submission. ¹² I do not allow a woman to teach, or to have authority over a man; she must keep silent. ¹³ For Adam was first formed, then Eve;

⁵ (For if a man does not know how to manage his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

¹⁵ But if I tarry long, I write so you will know how you ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth.

¹ Now the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; ² Taught by hypocritical liars; who have their consciences seared as with a hot iron;

³ If any man teaches otherwise, and does not consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the teaching which accords with godliness; ⁴ He is proud, knowing nothing, but has an unhealthy craving for controversy and disputes about words, from which come envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions,

⁵ For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that remained, and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you.

¹⁰ Reject a man who is divisive after a first and second warning;

² Has in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds. ³ He is the brightness of his glory, and the exact representation of his nature, upholding all things by the word of his power. When he had purged our sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high;

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to serve those who shall be heirs of salvation?

¹⁴ But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, those who by practice have their senses trained to discern both good and evil.

¹² That you may not grow slothful, but be followers of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

¹⁵ And for this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions committed under the first covenant, those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance. ¹⁶ For where there is a will, the death of the testator must be established. ¹⁷ For a will is in force only upon death: it has no strength at all while the testator lives. ¹⁸ Therefore, even the first covenant was not inaugurated without blood. ¹⁹ For when Moses had spoken every commandment to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, ²⁰ Saying, This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you to keep.

²⁸ So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many; shall appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring full salvation to those who eagerly await him.

²⁵ Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.

²⁹ How much more severe punishment do you suppose he shall deserve, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has affronted the Spirit of grace?

⁵ And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as sons, My son, do not think lightly of the discipline of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked by him: ⁶ For whom the Lord loves, he disciplines, and scourges every son whom he receives. ⁷ You must endure for discipline. God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? ⁸ But if you are left without discipline, of which all are partakers, then are you are illegitimate children, and not sons. ⁹ Furthermore, we have had earthly fathers who corrected us, and we gave them respect: shall we not much more be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live? ¹⁰ For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them; but he disciplines us for our good, that we might be partakers of his holiness. ¹¹ At the time, no discipline seems to be joyful, but painful: nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness for those who have been trained by it.

²⁰ Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the eternal covenant,

⁵ Listen, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him? ⁶ But you have despised the poor. Is it not the rich who oppress you, and drag you into court?

¹ My brethren, let not many of you be teachers, knowing that as such we shall be judged more strictly.

⁹ With it we bless our Lord and Father; and with it we curse men, who are made in the likeness of God.

¹² But above all things, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven, or by the earth, or with any other oath: but let your yes be yes; and your no, no; lest you fall into condemnation.

¹⁴ Or to governors, as to those who are sent by him to punish evildoers, and to praise those who do well.

¹ Likewise, you wives, be in subjection to your husbands; so that, if any do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the behaviour of the wives;

⁵ For in this manner the holy women in days of old, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, and were submissive to their husbands. ⁶ Thus Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: and you are her daughters, if you do right, and do not give way to fear.

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who secretly shall bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. ² And many shall follow their licentious ways; and because of them the way of truth shall be maligned.

¹³ And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness. They count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, revelling in their own deceptions while they feast with you;

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in which the heavens shall pass away with a roar, and the elements shall be destroyed with fervent heat, the earth and the works that are upon it shall be burned up.

⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us: but they went out, that it might be made clear that none of them were of us.

²⁸ And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

²⁰ Whenever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence toward God;

¹⁹ We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies under the power of the wicked one.

¹² These men are blemishes at your feasts of love, when they eat with you without fear: clouds without water, carried about by the winds; autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

¹⁴ And Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord comes with myriads of his holy ones,

⁷ Behold, he comes with the clouds; and every eye shall see him, even those who pierced him: and all families of the earth shall mourn because of him. Even so, Amen.

⁵ Remember the height from which you have fallen, and repent, and do the works you did at first; or else I will come to you, and will remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

² Awake, and strengthen those things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found your works perfect in the sight of God. ³ Therefore, remember what you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If you will not awaken, I will come like a thief, and you shall not know at what hour I will come upon you.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: therefore be zealous, and repent.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and him who sat upon it, from whose face earth and heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged by those things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.

²⁰ He who testifies to these things says, Surely I am coming quickly. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
