³⁹ And one of the crucified malefactors railed at him, saying, Art thou not the Christ? save thyself and us. ⁴⁰ But the other answering said, rebuking him, Dost not thou fear God, since thou art in the same condemnation? ⁴¹ And we indeed justly; for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man hath done nothing amiss. ⁴² And he said, Jesus, remember me when thou comest in thy kingdom. ⁴³ And he said to him, Truly do I say to thee, Today shalt thou be with me in Paradise.

⁷ and delivered righteous Lot, distressed by the lewd conduct of the lawless men; ⁸ (for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing tormented his righteous soul from day to day with their lawless deeds;) ⁹ the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to reserve the unrighteous under punishment to the day of judgment;
