¹⁸ that they told you that at the last time there would be scoffers, walking according to their own ungodly lusts.

²⁹ For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

¹ Now the Spirit saith expressly, that in the latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons, ² through the hypocrisy of speakers of lies, who bear a brand on their own conscience,

¹ But know this, that in the last days grievous times will come. ² For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without ³ natural affection, implacable, slanderers, incontinent, fierce, without love for what is good, ⁴ betrayers, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; ⁵ having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. And from these turn away.

¹³ But evil men and impostors will wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

³ For the time will come, when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own desires will they heap to themselves teachers; because they have itching ears;

¹ But there arose false prophets also among the people, as there will be false teachers among you also, who will stealthily bring in destructive factions, even denying the Lord that bought them; bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

³ knowing this first, that there will come in the last days open scoffers following their own lusts,

¹⁶ These are murmurers, complaining of their lot, walking according to their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words; admiring mens persons, for the sake of profit.
