¹⁸ He is the head of the body, the congregation. He is the beginning (commencement), the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence (first place). ¹⁹ It was the good pleasure of the Father that in him all the fullness should dwell.

³ In him is concealed all the hidden treasures of God’s wisdom and knowledge.

³ God’s Son is the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his being. He sustains all things by his powerful word. After Jesus purged our sins, he sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

¹³ I was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and a violent aggressor. I was shown mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. ¹⁴ The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Faithful is the saying, and worthy of acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost.

¹⁴ We have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, so let us hold fast our confession.

²⁰ That is where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

¹ Here is a summary of the things we are discussing: We have this kind of high priest. He sat down at the right hand of the throne of the majesty in heaven.

²² He is in heaven at the right hand of God, ruling over all angels and heavenly authorities and powers.
