⁴ One generation shall praise your works to another. They will declare your mighty acts.

⁷ »Carefully teach them to your sons. Talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way. Speak about them when you lie down, and when you rise up.

¹ ([Sons of Korah]) O God, we have heard with our ears and our fathers told us about the work that you did in their days, in the days of old. ² You drove out the nations with your own hand (great power). Then you planted them; you afflicted the peoples and spread them abroad.

¹⁸ And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare your strength to this generation, your power to all who are to come.

³ That we have heard and known and our fathers have told us. ⁴ We will not conceal them from their children, but tell to the generation to come the praises of Jehovah, and his strength and his wondrous works that he has done. ⁵ He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel. This he commanded our fathers that they should teach them to their children, ⁶ That the generation to come might know, the children to be born, that they may arise and tell to their children, ⁷ That they should put their confidence in God and not forget the works of God but keep his commandments.
