Isaiah 63:1-4
1 Who is this coming from Bozrah in Edom with his clothes stained bright red? Who is this dressed in splendor, going forward with great strength? It is I, Jehovah! I am coming to announce my victory. I am powerful enough to save you!
2 Why are your clothes red and your garments like those who trample grapes in a winepress?
3 »I have trampled alone in the winepress. No one was with me. In my anger I trampled on people. In my wrath I stomped on them. Their blood splattered my clothes so all my clothing has been stained.
4 »The day of vengeance was in my heart. The year for my reclaiming you has come.
Romans 7:14-24
14 For we know that the law is spiritual. But I am fleshly and sold under sin.
15 I do not understand what I am doing. For what I want to do I do not do. What I hate, I do.
16 But if what I do not want to do, I do, I consent to the law that it is right.
17 Now then it is no longer I that do it, but the sin that dwells in me.
18 I know that good does not live in my human nature. For even though the desire to do good is in me, I am not able to do it.
19 I do not do the good I want to do. Instead, I do the evil that I do not want to do.
20 If I do what I do not want to do, this means that I am no longer the one who does it. Instead, it is the sin that lives in me.
21 I find that this law is at work. When I want to do what is good, what is evil is the only choice I have.
22 My inner person delights in the law of God.
23 However I see a different law at work in my body. This law fights against the law that my mind approves of. It makes me a prisoner to the law of sin that is at work in my body.
24 Miserable man that I am! Who will rescue me from the body undergoing this death?

2 Corinthians 10:3-5
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
4 The weapons we use in our fight are not of the flesh but God's powerful weapons, which we use to destroy strongholds. We destroy false arguments.
5 We cast down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God. We bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Galatians 5:17
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. These are in opposition to one another that you may not do the things that you would.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in his mighty strength.
11 Put on the full armor (every implement) of God, that you may be able to stand against the cunning (inventive) (clever) methods of the devil.
12 Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places.
13 For that reason, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, having done everything, to stand firm.
14 Stand firm therefore and gird your loins with truth. Put on the breastplate of righteousness.
15 Shod your feet with the preparation of the good news of peace.
16 Also take up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 With prayer and supplication pray at all times in the Spirit. Watch with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones.
19 Pray on my behalf, that ability to speak may be given to me, to make known with boldness the secret of the good news.
