⁵¹ While he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven.

¹¹ They kept talking as they walked. Then suddenly a chariot of fire pulled by horses of fire came between them. Elijah was taken up into the physical heaven (the sky) by a whirlwind.

¹⁹ After he had spoken to them the Lord Jesus, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

¹⁷ Jesus said: »Do not touch me for I am not yet ascended to the Father. Go to my brothers, and say to them, I ascend to my Father and you’re Father, and my God and your God.« (Revelation 3:12)

⁹ When he said these things, while they watched, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

⁸ Therefore it says: »When he ascended on high, he led captives, and gave gifts to men (anthropos: human beings).« ⁹ (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)

³ God’s Son is the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his being. He sustains all things by his powerful word. After Jesus purged our sins, he sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

¹⁴ We have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, so let us hold fast our confession.
