⁷ »There the upright would reason with him. I would be delivered forever from my Judge.

³ »But I want to speak to the Almighty and to argue my case with God.

¹⁸ »Come now, let us reason together (make things right) (correct matters) between us!« Says Jehovah. »Though your sins are like scarlet, they will become as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they will become as white as wool.

⁵ »Will you hold a grudge forever? Will you always be angry? You have said and done all the evil things that you could.«

¹ Jehovah, if I argued my case with you, you would prove to be right. Indeed, I must question you about matters of justice. Why are the wicked so prosperous? Why do dishonest people succeed with impunity?

¹⁹ We know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those under the law. Every mouth may be stopped and the entire world may become liable to God for punishment. ²⁰ No flesh will be justified before God by works of the law. Knowledge of sin comes from the law. ²¹ But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets. ²² God makes people righteous through their active faith in Jesus Christ. God does this to all who believe in Christ, because there is no difference at all.

¹ Those who live through (in union with) (because of) Jesus Christ have no condemnation. [They do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.]

³³ Who will bring any charge against the ones God has chosen? It is God who justifies (makes righteous). ³⁴ Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died, yes rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
