⁹ Do not be too angry, Jehovah. Do not remember our sin forever. Now look, we are all your people.

¹ ([Psalm of David]) O Jehovah, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath.

¹ ([Psalm of Asaph]) God, why have you rejected us forever? Why do you smoke with anger against the sheep of your pasture? ² Remember your congregation, which you purchased long ago. For you have redeemed it to be the tribe of your inheritance, Mount Zion, in which you have lived.

¹ ([Psalm of David]) O Jehovah, do not correct me or discipline me in your burning anger.

⁵ How long, O Jehovah? Will you remain angry forever? Will your fury (zeal) continue to burn like fire? ⁶ Pour your fury (anger) on the nations that do not know you, on the kingdoms that have not called you. ⁷ They have devoured Jacob. They have destroyed his home. ⁸ Do not hold the crimes of our ancestors against us. Reach out to us soon with your compassion, because we are helpless. ⁹ Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name. Rescue us, and provide atonement for our sins for the honor of your name.

¹³ Your people, the flock in your pasture, will thank you forever. We will praise you throughout all generations.

⁹⁴ I am yours, save me for I have sought your precepts.

²⁵ »I alone am the one who is going to wipe away your rebellious actions for my own sake. I will not remember your sins anymore.

You do not keep your anger forever, because you delight in loving-kindness (unchanging love). ¹⁹ You will again have compassion on us. You will tread our iniquities under foot. You will throw all our sins into the depths of the sea. ²⁰ You will give truth to Jacob, and show loving-kindness (unchanging love) to Abraham. For you have sworn this to our fathers from the days of old.

² O Jehovah, I heard the report about you and I am afraid of your actions. O Jehovah, make it live in the midst of the years. In the midst of the years make it known! When you are angry remember mercy.

⁴ Esau's descendants, the Edomites, say: »Our towns have been destroyed, but we will rebuild them.« Thus Jehovah (YHWH) will reply: »Let them rebuild. I will tear them down again. People will call them the evil country. They are the nation with whom Jehovah has a long lasting anger.

¹⁷ These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm, for whom the gloom of darkness has been reserved.

¹⁰ The devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are, and will be tormented day and night forever.
