³ When you did awe-inspiring things that we did not expect, you came down and the mountains quaked at your presence.

¹⁰ Jehovah said: »Behold! I offer a covenant (promise) to perform signs and miracles for you that have never been done in all the earth. Neighboring nations will stand in fear and know that I was the one who did these marvelous things.

²¹ »He is your praise! He is your God! He performed for you those great and awesome things you saw with your own eyes.

³⁴ »Has God attempted to take a nation from the middle of another nation? Has he done this by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by great terrors? Yes, and by the use of his great power! Jehovah your God did all this for you in Egypt before your very eyes!

⁴ »Jehovah, when you left the mountains of Seir, when you came out of Edom, the earth shook, and rain fell from the sky. Yes, water poured out of the clouds. ⁵ »The mountains shook before Jehovah of Sinai, before Jehovah, the God of Israel.

²³ »There is no other nation on earth like Israel. This is the nation you rescued from slavery in Egypt to be your own. You became famous by using great and wonderful miracles to force other nations and their gods out of your land, so your people could live here.

³ Say to God: How awe-inspiring are your deeds! Your power is so great that your enemies will cringe in front of you.

⁵ Come and see the works of God, his awe-inspiring deeds for the sons of men.

⁸ The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: Sinai was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

They devoured the crops in the fields. ³⁶ He killed all the firstborn sons, the first ones born in the land when their fathers were young.
