¹ Here is my servant, whom I have strengthened. Here is the one I have chosen, with whom I am pleased. I have filled him with my Spirit, and he will bring justice to every nation.

Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain. He will bring the head stone with shouts of blessing.’« ⁸ The word of Jehovah continued to come to me: ⁹ »The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house. ¹⁸ »Look! My servant whom I have chosen. I am well pleased with him. I will put my Spirit upon him and he will declare judgment to the nations.

²⁷ »Do not work for food that perishes but for food that offers everlasting life. The Son of man will give you this food. The Father, even God, has set his seal upon him.«

¹⁹ The foundation of God stands firm having this seal: »Jehovah knows those who belong to him,« and: »Everyone who names the name of Jehovah is to abstain from wickedness.«

⁴ You came to him, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen and precious with God.
