However, I will save them by Jehovah their God.« ⁸ Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, Gomer conceived, and gave birth to another son. ⁹ Jehovah said: »Name him Loammi for you are not my people, and I am not your God.

¹ Jehovah said to me: »Go again and love a woman beloved by her friend. Love an adulteress, even as Jehovah loves the children of Israel. Though they turn to other gods, and love cakes of raisins for feasts.« ² So I bought her for fifteen pieces of silver, and a homer of barley, and a half-homer of barley. ³ I said to her: »You will live with me many days. You must not play the harlot (commit fornication) and you must not be any man’s wife.
