¹³ We always have to thank God for you, brothers. Jehovah loves you and we thank God that in the beginning he chose you to be saved through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.

¹² »May the beloved of Jehovah dwell in security by him who shields him all the day. He dwells between his shoulders.«

³ Jehovah appeared to him from afar, saying: »I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore I have drawn you with loving-kindness.

⁸ »‘Then I passed by you and saw that you were at the time for love. So I spread my skirt over you and covered your nakedness. I also swore to you and entered into a covenant with you so that you became mine, declares the Lord Jehovah.

²³ »At the beginning of your supplications the commandment went forth. I came to report to you for you are greatly loved. Consider the matter, and understand the vision.

¹¹ He said to me: »O Daniel, you are greatly loved, understand the words that I speak to you. Stand upright for I have been sent to you.« When he spoke these words I stood trembling.

¹⁹ He said, »O man greatly beloved, do not fear, peace be to you, be strong, yes, be strong.« And when he spoke to me, I was strengthened, and said, »Let my lord speak for you have strengthened me.«

⁷⁵ »May we serve in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was like God (God-like).

⁴⁴ »You are from your father [Satan] the Devil (slanderer) (false accuser)! You want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning. He does not stand for the truth. There is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks his own lies. He is a liar and the father of the lie! ⁴⁵ »I tell you the truth and you do not believe me. ⁴⁶ »Which of you convicted me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe me?

⁶ Jesus proclaimed: »I am the way, the truth, and the life! No one comes to the Father except through me.

⁴⁸ And when the people of the nations heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God. As many as were receptive to eternal life believed.

⁹ »He made no distinction between them and us and purified their hearts by faith.

⁷ To all who are in Rome, beloved of God and called to be holy ones: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. ⁸ First, I thank my God for all of you through Jesus Christ, for your faith is reported throughout the whole world.

¹⁷ But thanks to God, that you were the servants of sin yet you became obedient from the heart to the teachings delivered to you.

³³ Who will bring any charge against the ones God has chosen? It is God who justifies (makes righteous).

¹¹ When they had not yet been born nor performed anything good or vile, so the purpose of God regarding the choosing would continue without dependence on works but on the One who calls.

¹ O foolish Galatians, who fascinated (cast a spell over) (beguiled) (influenced) you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was openly presented impaled.

⁴ He chose us through him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love. ⁵ He predetermined (ordained) us to adoption, as sons to himself through Jesus Christ, according to the kind intention of his will.

⁸ By grace (Greek: charis, divine favor, loving-kindness) you have been saved through faith. It is not from you. It is the gift from God!

⁵ This is because of the hope reserved for you in heaven. You heard about this hope from the word of truth, the good news.

¹² As God’s chosen, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness (humility), meekness (mildness), and long-suffering (patience).

⁴ We know your calling brothers, beloved of God.

⁹ For God has not appointed us to experience his wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.

³ Our friends, we should thank God at all times for you. It is right for us to do so, because your faith is growing so much and the love each of you has for the other abounds toward each other.

¹⁰ He will use every kind of wicked deceit on those who will perish. They will perish because they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved.

¹² Then everyone who did not believe the truth, but was delighted with wickedness, will be condemned.

¹⁶ Now may our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting comfort and good hope by grace,

⁹ God has saved us and called us with a holy calling. This is not according to our works, but according to his purpose and grace that was granted us in Christ Jesus, from all eternity.

¹⁵ Be diligent to be presented approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.

¹⁵ From childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to make you wise to salvation through faith that is in Christ Jesus.

¹⁰ And, You, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands. (Psalm 102:25)

² You who are chosen and foreknown by God the Father. You have been sanctified by the Spirit to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood. Grace and peace be greatly increased to you. ³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy he gave us a new birth to a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. ⁴ You are born to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that does not fade away and is reserved in heaven for you. ⁵ You are protected by God’s power through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

¹⁸ Using his own will, he gave us birth through the word of truth. This way we would be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (atonement) (sacrificial payment) for our sins.

¹⁹ We love, because he first loved us.
