² To the congregation of God at Corinth. To you, who are sanctified in Christ Jesus. You who are called to be holy ones, with all whom in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. He is both their Lord and ours.

²⁶ Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time men began to call on (proclaim) the name of Jehovah.

⁸ From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent. Bethel was on the west and Ai on the east. He built an altar to Jehovah and called on the name of Jehovah.

⁴ This was where he had first built an altar. There Abram called on the name of Jehovah. ⁵ Lot moved about with Abram. He also had flocks and herds and tents. ⁶ But the land could not support them while they stayed together. Their possessions were so great that they were not able to stay together. ⁷ Quarreling arose between Abram’s herdsmen and the herdsmen of Lot. The Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land at that time. ⁸ Abram said to Lot: »Let us not have any quarreling between you and me, or between your herdsmen and mine, for we are brothers. ⁹ »Is not the whole land before you? Let us part company. If you go to the left, I will go to the right. If you go to the right, I will go to the left.« ¹⁰ Lot looked up and saw that the district of the Jordan River was well watered, like the garden of Jehovah, like the land of Egypt, toward Zoar. This was before Jehovah destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. ¹¹ So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company: ¹² Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom. ¹³ The men of Sodom were wicked and sinned greatly against Jehovah.

¹¹ Then the King will desire your beauty. Bow down to him because he is your Lord.

¹⁷ »Sanctify them by your truth. Your word is truth. ¹⁸ »As you commissioned (sent) me into the world, I commissioned (sent) them into the world. ¹⁹ »I sanctify myself for them, that they may be sanctified by truth.

⁵⁹ They stoned Stephen. He called out: »Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!« ⁶⁰ He kneeled down and cried with a loud voice: »Jehovah, do not charge this sin against them.« After saying this he fell asleep in death.

¹⁴ »He has authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.«

²¹ All who heard him were amazed. They asked: »Is he the one who raised havoc with those who called on this name in Jerusalem? Did he come for that purpose to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?«

³⁶ »You know the Word of God was sent to the children of Israel. He (Jehovah God) presented peace through the anointed Lord (or Master) of all, Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:36) (Jesus identified his father, Jehovah God, as Lord of all heaven and earth at Matthew 11:25)

⁹ »He made no distinction between them and us and purified their hearts by faith.

¹ After this Paul left Athens to go to Corinth.

⁸ Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord and so did his household. Many of the Corinthians who heard and believed were baptized. ⁹ The Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision: »Do not be afraid, but speak. Do not keep silent! ¹⁰ »I am with you and no man will harm you. I have many people in this city.« ¹¹ He lived there a year and six months teaching the word of God to them.

¹⁶ ‘Wait no longer! Get up and be baptized and have your sins washed away by praying to him.’

¹⁸ »To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God. They may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

⁷ To all who are in Rome, beloved of God and called to be holy ones: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹² For there is no difference between Jew and Greek. The same Lord (God) of all is abounding in riches for all who call on him.

³⁰ It is because of him you are united with Christ Jesus, who became wisdom to us from God, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.

²² God makes people righteous through their active faith in Jesus Christ. God does this to all who believe in Christ, because there is no difference at all.

⁸ For if we live, we live to God and if we die, we die to God. Therefore should we live or die, we are God’s. ⁹ To this end Christ both died, and rose, and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and the living.

⁹ Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither fornicators, nor people who worship idols, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous (greedy), nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortionists, will inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ That is what some of you were. You have been washed clean and now you are sanctified. The Spirit of our God declares you righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus.

⁶ But to us there is but one God, the Father. All things come from him and we live for him. And there is one Lord Jesus Christ. All things were made through him and we were made through him.

⁵ We do not preach about ourselves, but about Christ Jesus as Lord. We are your servants for Jesus' sake.

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the congregation of God at Corinth, with all the holy ones throughout Achaia:

²⁶ This is so he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word.

² And from the brothers who are with me, to the congregations of Galatia:

⁹ For this reason God highly exalted him, and gave to him the name that is above every name, (Relative authority given by Jehovah God, the Father to His Son) (Philipians 2:11) ¹⁰ that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth, ¹¹ and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁷ For God has not called us to uncleanness, but to holiness.

¹ Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the people of the congregation in Thessalonica, who belong to God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

¹⁶ Now may our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting comfort and good hope by grace, ¹⁷ comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good word and work.

⁹ God has saved us and called us with a holy calling. This is not according to our works, but according to his purpose and grace that was granted us in Christ Jesus, from all eternity.

²² Flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord with a clean heart.

¹¹ Both he who sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all from one. For this reason Jesus is not ashamed to call them »brothers«.

¹⁵ though if I am delayed, so that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in the household of God, which is the congregation of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.

¹⁰ We are sanctified by his »will« through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

¹² Jesus suffered outside the gate that he might sanctify the people through his own blood.

¹⁵ Be holy in all your conduct, just as the one who called you is holy. ¹⁶ Because it is written: »You shall be holy for I am holy.«

¹⁶ He has on his garment and on his thigh a name written, »King of Kings« and »Lord of Lords«!
