³ Though an army is deployed against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident.

¹⁵ Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me, to bring me up?" Saul answered, "I am very distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me, and answers me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams. Therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I shall do." ¹⁶ Samuel said, "Why then do you ask of me, since the LORD has departed from you and is with your neighbor?

¹⁵ When the servant of the man of God had risen early, and gone out, look, an army with horses and chariots was around the city. His servant said to him, "Alas, my master. What shall we do?" ¹⁶ He answered, "Do not be afraid; for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." ¹⁷ Then Elisha prayed and said, "LORD, please open his eyes, that he may see." The LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and look, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha.

¹⁵ and he said, "Listen, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you king Jehoshaphat. Thus says the LORD to you, 'Do not be afraid, neither be dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

⁶ Isn't your piety your confidence? Isn't the integrity of your ways your hope?

⁶ I am not afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me on every side.

⁶ The righteous also will see it, and fear, and laugh at him, saying,

¹¹ Look, all those who are incensed against you will be disappointed and confounded. Those who strive with you will be like nothing, and shall perish. ¹² You will seek them, and won't find them, even those who contend with you. Those who war against you will be as nothing, as a non-existent thing.

¹⁶ "Look, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals, and brings forth a weapon for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. ¹⁷ No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness which is of me," says the LORD.

³⁵ Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? ³⁶ Even as it is written, "For your sake we are killed all day long. We were regarded as sheep to be slaughtered." ³⁷ No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

⁶ Therefore, we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord; ⁷ for we walk by faith, not by sight. ⁸ We are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.

²⁸ and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.

¹⁴ But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. "And do not fear what they fear, nor be troubled."

¹⁰ Do not be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Look, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

⁷ There was war in the sky. Michael and his angels made war on the serpent. The serpent and his angels made war. ⁸ They did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any more in heaven. ⁹ The great serpent was thrown down, the ancient serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. ¹⁰ I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now is come the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. ¹¹ They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony. They did not love their life, even to death.
