⁷ For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines and plagues and earthquakes in various places.

⁶ They were broken in pieces, nation against nation, and city against city; for God troubled them with all adversity.

¹⁹ Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts, the land is burnt up; and the people are the fuel for the fire. No one spares his brother. ²⁰ One will devour on the right hand, and be hungry; and he will eat on the left hand, and they will not be satisfied. Everyone will eat the flesh of his own arm: ²¹ Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

² I will stir up the Egyptians against the Egyptians, and they will fight everyone against his brother, and everyone against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.

¹⁹ The earth is utterly broken. The earth is torn apart. The earth is shaken violently. ²⁰ The earth will stagger like a drunken man, and will sway back and forth like a hammock. Its disobedience will be heavy on it, and it will fall and not rise again. ²¹ It shall happen in that day that the LORD will punish the army of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth on the earth. ²² And they will be gathered, a gathering in a dungeon, and shall be shut up in the prison; and after many days shall they be visited. ²³ Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, for the LORD of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before his elders will be glory.

²¹ "For thus says the Lord GOD: 'How much more when I send my four severe judgments on Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the evil animals, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and animal.

²⁷ I will overturn, overturn, overturn it: this also shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.'

³⁰ And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood, fire, and pillars of smoke. ³¹ The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes.

²¹ "Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, 'I will shake the heavens and the earth. ²² I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms. I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations. I will overthrow the chariots, and those who ride in them. The horses and their riders will come down, everyone by the sword of his brother.

² For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city will be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city will go out into captivity, and the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city. ³ Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. ⁴ His feet will stand in that day on the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in two, from east to west, making a very great valley. Half of the mountain will move toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

¹³ It will happen in that day, that a great panic from the LORD will be among them; and they will lay hold everyone on the hand of his neighbor, and his hand will rise up against the hand of his neighbor.

¹¹ There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven.

²⁵ And there will be signs in the sun, and moon, and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves; ²⁶ people will be fainting from fear, and from expectation of the things which are coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

¹⁹ And I will show wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.

²⁸ One of them named Agabus stood up, and indicated by the Spirit that there should be a great famine all over the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius.

²⁷ This phrase, "Yet once more," signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain.

⁸ And I looked, and suddenly there was a pale horse, and he who sat on it, his name was Death. Hell followed with him. Authority over one fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword, with famine, with death, and by the wild animals of the earth was given to him.

¹² I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became as blood.
