Then they brought these men before the king. ¹⁴ Nebuchadnezzar answered them, "Is it on purpose, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my god, nor worship the golden image which I have set up? ¹⁵ Now if you are ready whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music to fall down and worship the image which I have made, well: but if you do not worship, you shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that god that shall deliver you out of my hands?" ¹⁶ Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, "Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. ¹⁷ If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. ¹⁸ But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up."

²² But I tell you, that everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause will be liable to judgment; and whoever will say to his brother, 'Raqa,' will be in danger of the council; and whoever will say, 'You fool,' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

²⁶ Therefore do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known.

⁴⁶ These will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life."

⁴ "I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. ⁵ But I will warn you whom you should fear. Fear him, who after he has killed, has power to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

²⁹ and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.

²³ except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions wait for me. ²⁴ But I make my life an account of nothing precious to myself, so that I may finish my race, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.

¹³ Then Paul answered, "What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."

³⁵ Who will separate us from the love of Christ? ⁸ giving vengeance to those who do not know God, and to those who do not obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus, ⁹ who will pay the penalty: everlasting destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might, ¹⁰ when he comes to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all those who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.

⁶ For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come. ⁷ I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. ⁸ From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

³¹ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

³⁵ Women received their dead by resurrection. And others were tortured, not accepting the payment for release, that they might obtain a better resurrection.

²⁸ So since we are receiving a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us give thanks, through which we may offer service pleasing to God, with reverence and awe, ²⁹ for our God is a consuming fire.

¹² Only one is the lawgiver and judge, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?

¹⁴ But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. "And do not fear what they fear, nor be troubled."

¹⁰ Do not be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Look, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹⁰ The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. ¹³ The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and hell gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works. ¹⁴ Death and hell were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. ¹⁵ If anyone was not found written in the Book of Life, he was cast into the lake of fire.
