¹ And they came to the other side of the sea, into the territory of the Gerasenes. ² And when he had come out of the boat, immediately a man with an unclean spirit met him out of the tombs. ³ He lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him any more, not even with a chain. ⁴ For he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces. No one had the strength to tame him. ⁵ And always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself with stones. ⁶ And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him, ⁷ and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me." ⁸ For he had been saying to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit." ⁹ And then he asked him, "What is your name?" And he replied, "My name is Legion, for we are many." ¹⁰ And he pleaded with Jesus repeatedly not to send them away out of the region. ¹¹ Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding. ¹² And they begged him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them." ¹³ And he gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs; and the herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea. ¹⁴ And those who fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the country. And the people went to see what it was that had happened. ¹⁵ And they came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid. ¹⁶ And those who saw it declared to them how it happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs. ¹⁷ And then they began to plead with Jesus to leave their region. ¹⁸ As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons pleaded with him that he might be with him. ¹⁹ However, Jesus did not allow him, but said to him, "Go to your house, to your own, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how he had mercy on you." ²⁰ So he went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone was amazed. ²¹ And when Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a large crowd was gathered to him; and he was by the sea. ²² One of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet, ²³ and pleaded with him repeatedly, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live." ²⁴ And he went with him, and a large crowd followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides. ²⁵ Now a woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years, ²⁶ and had suffered many things by many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better, but rather grew worse, ²⁷ having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd, and touched his clothes. ²⁸ For she said, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well." ²⁹ And immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction. ³⁰ And immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd, and asked, "Who touched my clothes?" ³¹ And his disciples said to him, "You see the crowd pressing against you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'" ³² He looked around to see her who had done this thing. ³³ But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him the whole truth. ³⁴ And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease." ³⁵ While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler's house saying, "Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?" ³⁶ But Jesus, overhearing the message spoken, said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid, only believe." ³⁷ And he allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. ³⁸ And they came to the synagogue ruler's house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing. ³⁹ And when he had entered in, he said to them, "Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep." ⁴⁰ And they ridiculed him. But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child, her mother, and those who were with him, and went in where the child was. ⁴¹ And taking the child by the hand, he said to her, "Talitha koum," which translated means, "Little girl, I tell you, get up." ⁴² And immediately the girl rose up and walked, for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were overcome with amazement. ⁴³ And he strictly ordered them that no one should know this, and commanded that something should be given to her to eat.

²⁸ And when he came to the other side, into the country of the Gadarenes, two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way. ²⁹ And look, they shouted, saying, "What do we have to do with you, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?" ³⁰ Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them. ³¹ And the demons begged him, saying, "If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs." ³² And he said to them, "Go." And they came out, and went into the pigs, and look, the whole herd rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water. ³³ And those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons. ³⁴ And look, all the city came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.

³⁵ And on that day, when evening had come, he said to them, "Let us go over to the other side."

²⁶ They arrived at the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee. ²⁷ And when he came out onto the land he was met by a certain man from the town who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and did not live in a house, but in the tombs. ²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he shouted, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, "What do I have to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me." ²⁹ For Jesus was commanding the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For the unclean spirit had often seized the man. He was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bands apart, he was driven by the demon into the desert. ³⁰ Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" He said, "Legion," for many demons had entered into him. ³¹ They pleaded with him that he would not command them to go into the abyss. ³² Now there was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they begged him that he would allow them to enter into those. He allowed them. ³³ The demons came out from the man, and entered into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake, and were drowned. ³⁴ When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled, and told it in the city and in the country. ³⁵ Then people went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus' feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. ³⁶ Those who saw it told them how he who had been possessed by demons was healed. ³⁷ All the people of the surrounding region of the Geresenes asked him to leave them, for they were very much afraid; and he entered into the boat and returned. ³⁸ But the man from whom the demons had gone out begged him that he might go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, ³⁹ "Return to your house, and declare what great things God has done for you." He went his way, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

⁴ who sit among the graves, and lodge in the secret places; who eat pig's flesh, and the broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

²³ And just then there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he shouted,

²⁶ And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.

³⁰ because they said, "He has an unclean spirit."

¹ And again he began to teach by the seaside. And a large crowd was gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat in the sea, and sat down. And the whole crowd was on the land by the sea.

⁸ For he had been saying to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit."

²⁵ But immediately a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard of him and came and fell at his feet.

²⁷ And when he came out onto the land he was met by a certain man from the town who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and did not live in a house, but in the tombs.

⁴² While he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him violently. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

³² and you shall be driven from men; and your dwelling shall be with the animals of the field; you shall be made to eat grass as oxen; and seven times shall pass over you; until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he wants." ³³ The same hour was the thing fulfilled on Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and ate grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the sky, until his hair was grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.

¹⁸ and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and wastes away. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they weren't able." ¹⁹ And answering, he said to them, "You unbelieving generation, how long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him to me." ²⁰ They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth. ²¹ He asked his father, "How long has it been since this has come to him?" He said, "From childhood. ²² And it has often cast him both into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us."

²⁹ For Jesus was commanding the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For the unclean spirit had often seized the man. He was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bands apart, he was driven by the demon into the desert.

⁷ For all kinds of animals, and birds, of reptiles and sea creatures, are being tamed and have been tamed by humankind. ⁸ But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

²⁸ And they cried aloud, and cut themselves, as was their custom, with swords and spears, until the blood gushed out on them.

⁷ So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the top of his head. ⁸ And he took for himself a potsherd to scrape himself with while he sat among the ashes.

⁴⁴ You are of your father, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and its father.

³ Tell God, "How awesome are your deeds. Through the greatness of your power, your enemies submit themselves to you.

⁹ Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him. His enemies shall lick the dust.

⁴¹ Demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, "You are the Son of God." But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.

¹⁷ She followed Paul and us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation."

¹⁹ You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder.

¹⁵ I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel."

¹⁶ The king said to him, "How many times do I have to adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?"

⁸ Ephraim, what have I to do any more with idols? I answer, and will take care of him. I am like a green fir tree; from me your fruit is found."

³ And the tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."

²⁹ And look, they shouted, saying, "What do we have to do with you, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?"

¹⁶ Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

⁶³ But Jesus held his peace. The high priest answered him, "I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God."

²⁴ saying, "What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God."

¹¹ And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, fell down before him, and shouted, saying, "You are the Son of God."

⁶¹ But he stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?"

³² He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father, David,

³⁴ saying, "Ah. What have we to do with you, Jesus, Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are — the Holy One of God."

³⁵ But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.

²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he shouted, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, "What do I have to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me."

³¹ but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

³⁶ As they went on the way, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. What is keeping me from being baptized?"

¹³ But some of the itinerant Jews, exorcists, took on themselves to invoke over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, "I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches."

²⁰ And the God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

¹⁴ Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

¹ For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,

⁴ For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them down to the lower parts of hell, and committed them to chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;

⁸ He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.

⁶ Angels who did not keep their first domain, but deserted their own dwelling place, he has kept in everlasting bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day.

¹² Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the land and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time."

¹ I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. ² He seized the serpent, the ancient snake, which is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, ³ and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years were finished. After this, he must be freed for a short time.

²⁵ And Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him."

²⁵ When Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, "You deaf and mute spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again." ²⁶ Having screamed, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, "He is dead."

¹⁸ She was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." And it came out at once.

⁴⁵ Then he goes, and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that person becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation."

⁵³ Or do you think that I could not ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?

¹⁵ And they came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid.

³⁰ Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" He said, "Legion," for many demons had entered into him.

²¹ "When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own dwelling, his goods are safe. ²² But when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armor in which he trusted, and divides up his plunder. ²³ "He that is not with me is against me. He who does not gather with me scatters. ²⁴ The unclean spirit, when he has gone out of the person, passes through dry places, seeking rest, and finding none, he says, 'I will turn back to my house from which I came out.' ²⁵ When he returns, he finds it swept and put in order. ²⁶ Then he goes, and takes seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that person becomes worse than the first."

²² And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He has Beelzebul," and, "By the prince of the demons he casts out the demons."

¹³ And he gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs; and the herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea.

³⁰ Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them.

³² Now there was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they begged him that he would allow them to enter into those. He allowed them.

¹⁰ Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his household, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his livestock have increased in the land. ¹¹ But put forth your hand now, and strike all that he has, and he will curse you to your face." ¹² The LORD said to Satan, "Look, all that he has is in your power. Only do not put forth your hand on him." So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

⁵ But put forth your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face."

³¹ And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon, look, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat, ³² but I prayed for you, that your faith would not fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers."

¹¹ that no advantage may be gained over us by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his schemes.

⁸ Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

²² The LORD said to him, 'How?' He said, 'I will go out and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' He said, 'You will entice him, and will also prevail. Go out and do so.'

¹² The LORD said to Satan, "Look, all that he has is in your power. Only do not put forth your hand on him." So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

⁶ The LORD said to Satan, "Look, he is in your power. Only preserve his life."

³² And he said to them, "Go." And they came out, and went into the pigs, and look, the whole herd rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water.

²² who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.

¹¹ They have over them as king the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew is "Abaddon," and in Greek, he has the name "Apollyon."

⁵ A mouth was given to him speaking proud words and blasphemies. There was given to him authority to act for forty-two months. ⁶ He opened his mouth for blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his dwelling, those who dwell in heaven. ⁷ It was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him.

⁷ And after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison,

³³ And those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons. ³⁴ When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled, and told it in the city and in the country.

²⁰ And the men of Beth Shemesh said, "Who is able to stand before this holy thing? And to whom should he go up from us?" ²¹ They sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kiriath Jearim, saying, "The Philistines have brought back the ark of the LORD; come down, and bring it up to yourselves."

⁴ And Samuel did what the LORD said, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the city came to meet him trembling. And they said, "Is your visit peaceful, seer?"

¹² David was afraid of God that day, saying, "How can I bring the ark of God to me?"

¹³ For because you were not prepared the first time, the LORD our God made an outbreak against us, because we did not seek him according to the ordinance."

¹¹ Shall not his majesty make you afraid, And his dread fall on you?

⁵ There they are utterly terrified, for God is in the generation of the righteous.

²⁴ Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the captives of a tyrant be delivered? ²⁵ But thus says the LORD, "Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the tyrant shall be delivered; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.

²⁴ And the report about him went out into all Syria, and they brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, and epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.

³³ And when the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke. And the crowds were amazed, saying, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel."

²⁹ Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and carry off his possessions, unless he first bind the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.

⁴ For he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces. No one had the strength to tame him.

¹³ who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and transferred us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love;

⁷ For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind.

¹⁶ Abimelech said to Isaac, "Go from us, for you are much mightier than we."

²⁵ Now therefore why should we die? For this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.

¹⁸ And she said to Elijah, "What do we have in common, O man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to memory, and to kill my son."

¹⁴ They tell God, 'Depart from us, for we do not want to know about your ways. ¹⁵ What is Shaddai, that we should serve him? What profit should we have, if we pray to him?'

³⁴ And look, all the city came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.

⁷ and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me." ⁸ But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord."

³⁷ All the people of the surrounding region of the Geresenes asked him to leave them, for they were very much afraid; and he entered into the boat and returned.

³⁹ and they came and apologized to them. When they had brought them out, they asked them to depart from the city.

¹² What will I give to the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

¹⁷ And then they began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.

¹⁵ One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice. ¹⁶ He fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ Jesus answered, "Weren't the ten cleansed? But where are the nine?

⁴² And he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom." ⁴³ And he said to him, "Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise."

²³ But I am in a dilemma between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. ²⁴ Yet, to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake.

¹⁶ Come, and hear, all you who fear God. I will declare what he has done for my soul.

⁹ The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and had recovered of his sickness. ¹⁰ I said, "In the middle of my life I go into the gates of Sheol. I am deprived of the residue of my years." ¹¹ I said, "I won't see the LORD in the land of the living. I will not look on humankind any longer with the inhabitants of the world. ¹² My dwelling is removed, and is carried away from me like a shepherd's tent. I have rolled up, like a weaver, my life. He will cut me off from the loom. From day even to night you will make an end of me. ¹³ I waited patiently until morning. He breaks all my bones like a lion. From day even to night you will make an end of me. ¹⁴ I chip like a swallow or a thrush. I moan like a dove. My eyes weaken looking upward.LORD, I am oppressed. Be my security.” ¹⁵ What will I say? He has both spoken to me, and himself has done it. I will walk carefully all my years because of the anguish of my soul. ¹⁶ Lord, men live by these things; and my spirit finds life in all of them: you restore me, and cause me to live. ¹⁷ Look, for peace I had great anguish, but you have in love for my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption; for you have cast all my sins behind your back. ¹⁸ For Sheol can't praise you. And death can't celebrate you. And those who go down into the pit can't hope for your truth. ¹⁹ The living, the living, he shall praise you, as I do this day. The father shall make known your truth to the children. ²⁰ The LORD will save me. Therefore we will sing my songs with stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.

¹ "Nebuchadnezzar the king, to all the peoples, nations, and languages, who dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. ² It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked toward me. ³ How great are his signs and how mighty are his wonders. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble."

²⁵ Then king Daryavesh wrote to all the peoples, nations, and languages, who dwell in all the earth: "Peace be multiplied to you. ²⁶ I make a decree, that in all the dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel; for he is the living God, and steadfast forever. His kingdom shall not be destroyed; and his dominion shall be to the end. ²⁷ He delivers and rescues, and he works signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions."

¹ Then Jonah prayed to the LORD, his God, out of the fish's belly. ² He said, "I called because of my affliction to the LORD. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice. ³ For you threw me into the depths, in the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your breakers and waves passed over me. ⁴ I said, 'I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.' ⁵ The waters surrounded me, threatening my life. The deep was around me. The end is upon my head. ⁶ I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever: yet have you brought up my life from the pit, LORD my God. ⁷ "When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple. ⁸ Those who regard worthless things forsake their faithfulness. ⁹ But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to the LORD." ¹⁰ The LORD spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land.

²⁹ "Come, see a man who told me everything that I did. Can this be the Christ?"

¹ "Brothers and fathers, listen to the defense which I now make to you." ² When they heard that he spoke to them in the Hebrew language, they were even more quiet. He said, ³ "I am indeed a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, instructed according to the strict manner of the Law of our fathers, being zealous for God, even as you all are this day. ⁴ I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women. ⁵ As also the high priest and all the council of the elders testify, from whom also I received letters to the brothers, and traveled to Damascus to bring them also who were there to Jerusalem in bonds to be punished. ⁶ It happened that, as I made my journey, and came close to Damascus, about noon, suddenly there shone from the sky a great light around me. ⁷ I fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to me, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?' ⁸ I answered, 'Who are you, Lord?' He said to me, 'I am Jesus the Nazorean, whom you persecute.' ⁹ "Those who were with me indeed saw the light, and were afraid, but they did not understand the voice of him who spoke to me. ¹⁰ I said, 'What should I do, Lord?' The Lord said to me, 'Arise, and go into Damascus. There you will be told about all things which are appointed for you to do.' ¹¹ When I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of those who were with me, I came into Damascus. ¹² One Ananias, a devout man according to the Law, well reported of by all the Jews who lived in Damascus, ¹³ came to me, and standing by me said to me, 'Brother Saul, receive your sight.' In that very hour I looked up at him. ¹⁴ He said, 'The God of our fathers has appointed you to know his will, and to see the Righteous One, and to hear a voice from his mouth. ¹⁵ For you will be a witness for him to all people of what you have seen and heard. ¹⁶ Now why do you wait? Arise, be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name.' ¹⁷ "It happened that, when I had returned to Jerusalem, and while I prayed in the temple, I fell into a trance, ¹⁸ and saw him saying to me, 'Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not receive testimony concerning me from you.' ¹⁹ I said, 'Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue those who believed in you. ²⁰ When the blood of Stephen, your witness, was shed, I also was standing by, and guarding the cloaks of those who killed him.' ²¹ "He said to me, 'Depart, for I will send you out far from here to non-Jewish people.'"

⁴ "Indeed, all Jews know my way of life from my youth up, which was from the beginning among my own nation and at Jerusalem; ⁵ having known me from the first, if they are willing to testify, that after the strictest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee. ⁶ Now I stand here to be judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers, ⁷ which our twelve tribes, earnestly serving night and day, hope to attain. Concerning this hope I am accused by the Jews, O King. ⁸ Why is it judged incredible with you, if God does raise the dead? ⁹ "In fact, I thought to myself that I ought to do many things against the name of Jesus the Nazorean. ¹⁰ This I also did in Jerusalem. I both shut up many of the saints in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests, and when they were put to death I gave my vote against them. ¹¹ Punishing them often in all the synagogues, I tried to make them blaspheme. Being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities. ¹² "Whereupon as I traveled to Damascus with the authority and commission from the chief priests, ¹³ at noon, O King, I saw on the way a light from the sky, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who traveled with me. ¹⁴ When we had all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.' ¹⁵ "I said, 'Who are you, Lord?' "He said, 'I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. ¹⁶ But arise, and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose: to appoint you a servant and a witness both of the things which you have seen me, and of the things which I will reveal to you; ¹⁷ delivering you from the people, and from the non-Jewish people, to whom I send you, ¹⁸ to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.' ¹⁹ "Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, ²⁰ but declared first to them of Damascus, at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the non-Jews, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance. ²¹ For this reason Jews seized me when I was in the temple, and tried to kill me. ²² Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said would happen, ²³ how the Christ would suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to non-Jewish people." ²⁴ As he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, "Paul, you are crazy. Your great learning is driving you insane." ²⁵ But he said, "I am not crazy, most excellent Festus, but boldly declare words of truth and reasonableness. ²⁶ For the king knows of these things, to whom also I speak freely. For I am persuaded that none of these things is hidden from him, for this has not been done in a corner. ²⁷ King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you believe." ²⁸ Agrippa said to Paul, "With a little persuasion are you trying to make me a Christian?" ²⁹ Paul said, "I pray to God, that whether with little or with much, not only you, but also all that hear me this day, might become such as I am, except for these bonds."

²⁵ And large crowds from Galilee, and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judea, and from beyond the Jordan followed him.

³¹ Again he departed from the borders of Tyre, and came through Sidon to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the region of Decapolis.

¹ And he entered into a boat, and crossed over, and came into his own city.

⁴⁰ When Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him.

¹¹ And they came into the house and saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

¹⁸ While he told these things to them, look, a ruler came and worshiped him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live." ¹⁹ And Jesus got up and followed him, as did his disciples. ²⁰ And look, a woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years came behind him, and touched the fringe of his garment; ²¹ for she said within herself, "If I just touch his garment, I will be made well." ²² But Jesus, turning around and seeing her, said, "Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour. ²³ And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the flute players, and the crowd in noisy disorder, ²⁴ he said, "Go away, for the girl is not dead, but asleep." And they laughed at him. ²⁵ But when the crowd was put out, he entered in, took her by the hand, and the girl arose. ²⁶ And the report of this went out into all that land.

³³ But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him the whole truth.

³⁵ While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler's house saying, "Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?" ³⁶ But Jesus, overhearing the message spoken, said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid, only believe."

³⁸ And they came to the synagogue ruler's house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing.

⁴¹ And look, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. He fell down at Jesus' feet, and pleaded with him to come into his house, ⁴² for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as he went, the crowds pressed against him. ⁴³ A woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years (who had spent all her living on physicians) and could not be healed by any, ⁴⁴ came behind him, and touched the fringe of his garment, and immediately the flow of her blood stopped. ⁴⁵ Jesus said, "Who touched me?" When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, "Master, the crowds press and jostle you." ⁴⁶ But Jesus said, "Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me." ⁴⁷ When the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. ⁴⁸ He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace." ⁴⁹ While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue's house came, saying to him, "Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher." ⁵⁰ But Jesus hearing it, answered him, "Do not be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed." ⁵¹ When he came to the house, he did not allow anyone to enter in with him, except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother. ⁵² All were weeping and mourning her, but he said, "Do not weep. She is not dead, but sleeping." ⁵³ They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead. ⁵⁴ But he, taking her by the hand, called, saying, "Child, arise." ⁵⁵ Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He commanded that something be given to her to eat. ⁵⁶ Her parents were amazed, but he commanded them to tell no one what had been done.

¹⁴ The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd, "There are six days when work should be done Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day."

²⁵ When it happened that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet, and worshiped him. ²⁶ But Peter raised him up, saying, "Stand up. I myself am also a man."

¹⁵ After the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, "Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, speak."

⁸ Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his house. Many of the Corinthians, when they heard, believed and were baptized.

¹⁷ Then they all took hold of Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. But none of these things were of concern to Gallio.

⁸ Now I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who had shown me these things.

¹⁵ Then Nathan went to his home. And God struck the child that Uriah's wife bore to David, and it was very sick. ¹⁶ Then David sought from God on behalf of the child. And David fasted, and went in and lay all night on the ground.

¹¹ But Naaman was angry, and went away, and said, "Look, I thought, 'He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leper.'

¹⁵ Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me."

¹⁹ Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble; he saved them out of their distresses.

³ And he stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

⁵ And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people, and healed them. ⁶ And he was amazed because of their unbelief. And he went around the villages teaching.

¹³ They cast out many demons, and anointed many with oil who were sick, and healed them.

²⁵ But immediately a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard of him and came and fell at his feet. ²⁶ Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter. ²⁷ But he said to her, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs."

³² They brought to him one who was deaf and had a speech difficulty, and they begged Jesus to lay his hand on him.

²³ He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything.

¹⁸ they will pick up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them; they will place their hands on the sick, and they will be made well."

³⁸ He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they appealed to him about her.

⁴⁰ When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

² A certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick and at the point of death. ³ When he heard about Jesus, he sent to him Jewish elders, asking him to come and save his servant.

¹² And when he drew near to the gate of the city, then look, a man who was dead was carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large crowd from the city was with her.

¹³ He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight, and glorified God.

⁴⁶ Jesus came therefore again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water into wine. There was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. ⁴⁷ When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him, and pleaded with him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was close to death.

³ The sisters therefore sent to him, saying, "Lord, look, the one you love is sick."

⁶ whom they set before the apostles. When they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

¹⁷ Ananias departed, and entered into the house. Laying his hands on him, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me, that you may receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit."

⁸ It happened that the father of Publius lay sick of fever and dysentery. Paul entered in to him, prayed, and laying his hands on him, healed him.

¹⁴ Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they should pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

⁹ And he told his disciples that a small boat should stay near him because of the crowd, so that they would not press on him. ¹⁰ For he had healed many, so that as many as had diseases pressed on him that they might touch him.

²⁰ And he came into a house, and the crowd came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

³¹ And his disciples said to him, "You see the crowd pressing against you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'"

⁶ Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof.

⁴² for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as he went, the crowds pressed against him.

⁴⁵ Jesus said, "Who touched me?" When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, "Master, the crowds press and jostle you."

¹ Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered together, so much so that they trampled on each other, he began to tell his disciples first of all, "Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

³ He was trying to see who Jesus was, and could not because of the crowd, because he was short.

³⁸ even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

¹⁹ "'If a woman has a discharge, and her discharge in her flesh is blood, she shall be in her impurity seven days: and whoever touches her shall be unclean until the evening. ²⁰ "'Everything that she lies on in her impurity shall be unclean. Everything also that she sits on shall be unclean.

²⁵ "'If a woman has a discharge of her blood many days not in the time of her period, or if she has a discharge beyond the time of her period; all the days of the discharge of her uncleanness shall be as in the days of her period: she is unclean. ²⁶ Every bed whereon she lies all the days of her discharge shall be to her as the bed of her period: and everything whereon she sits shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her period. ²⁷ Whoever touches these things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening.

¹¹ And look, a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bent over, and could in no way straighten herself up.

⁵ A certain man was there, who had been sick for thirty-eight years. ⁶ When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been sick for a long time, he asked him, "Do you want to be made well?"

²² For the man on whom this miracle of healing was performed was more than forty years old.

³³ There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years, because he was paralyzed. ³⁴ Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed." Immediately he arose.

⁴ But you are forgers of lies. You are all physicians of no value.

¹² Give us help against the enemy, for the help of man is vain.

²² Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then isn't the health of the daughter of my people recovered?

¹² For thus says the LORD, "Your hurt is incurable, and your wound grievous. ¹³ There is none to plead your cause, that you may be bound up: you have no healing medicines.

⁸ Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: wail for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.

²¹ It happened, as they were burying a man, that look, they spied a band; and they cast the man into the tomb of Elisha: and as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

³⁶ and they begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment. And all who touched it were healed.

⁵⁶ Wherever he entered, into villages, or into cities, or into the country, they placed the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch just the fringe of his garment; and everyone who touched him were made well.

¹⁵ They even carried out the sick into the streets, and put them on cots and mats, so that as Peter came by at the least his shadow would fall on some of them.

¹² so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were carried away from his body to the sick, and the evil spirits went out.

²⁶ and he said, "If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am the LORD who heals you.

¹⁸ "'If a man lies with a woman having her monthly period, and uncovers her nakedness; he has made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

³⁷ "If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight, mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemy besieges them in the land of their gates; whatever plague, whatever sickness there is;

²⁴ then he is gracious to him, and says, 'Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.' ²⁵ His flesh shall be fresher than a child's. He returns to the days of his youth.

² LORD my God, I cried to you, and you have healed me.

³ who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases;

²⁰ He sent his word and healed them; he delivered them from their traps.

³ He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

¹⁰ For he had healed many, so that as many as had diseases pressed on him that they might touch him.

³⁴ And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease."

²¹ In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and to many who were blind he gave sight.

¹⁷ It happened on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and teachers of the Law sitting by, who had come out of every village of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with him to heal.

¹⁹ All the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.

⁴⁶ But Jesus said, "Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me."

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

¹² The day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said to him, "Send the crowd away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and lodge, and get food, for we are here in a deserted place."

² Praise the LORD, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits; ³ who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases; ⁴ who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies; ⁵ who satisfies your desire with good things; your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

¹² What will I give to the LORD for all his benefits toward me? ¹³ I will take the cup of salvation, and call on the name of the LORD. ¹⁴ I will pay my vows to the LORD, yes, in the presence of all his people.

⁴¹ And they were greatly afraid, and said to one another, "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"

¹² Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him.

²⁹ But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered what kind of salutation this might be.

⁴⁷ When the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

¹⁷ Then Eli answered, "Go in peace; and may the God of Israel grant your petition that you have asked of him."

⁴² Jonathan said to David, "Go in peace, because we have both sworn in the name of the LORD, saying, 'The LORD shall be between me and you, and between my descendants and your descendants, forever.'" He arose and departed; and Jonathan went into the city.

¹⁹ He said to him, "Go in peace." So he departed from him a little way.

⁷ Go your way—eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has already accepted your works.

² And look, they brought to him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, cheer up. Your sins are forgiven."

²² But Jesus, turning around and seeing her, said, "Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.

²⁹ And immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.

⁵² Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight, and followed him on the road.

⁵⁰ He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."

⁴⁸ He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace."

¹⁹ Then he said to him, "Get up, and go your way. Your faith has healed you."

⁴² Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you."

⁹ He was listening to Paul speaking, who, fastening eyes on him, and seeing that he had faith to be made whole,

¹⁸ He said, "Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, 'The Teacher says, "My time is near. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples."'"

²² One of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,

¹⁷ As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, "Good Teacher, what must I do that I may inherit everlasting life?"

⁶ Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof. ⁷ Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed.

⁴⁹ While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue's house came, saying to him, "Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher."

²⁵ Truly, truly, I tell you, the hour comes, and now is, when the dead will hear the Son of God's voice; and those who hear will live.

²¹ Therefore Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you would have been here, my brother would not have died.

²⁵ Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.

²⁸ And when she had said this, she went away, and called Mary, her sister, secretly, saying, "The Teacher is here, and is calling you."

³² Therefore when Mary came to where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying to him, "Lord, if you would have been here, my brother would not have died."

³⁹ Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days."

²⁰ They rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Listen to me, Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem. Believe in the LORD your God, so you will be established. Believe his prophets, and you will prosper."

²⁸ And when he had come into the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They told him, "Yes, Lord." ²⁹ Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you."

²⁰ So he said to them, "Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you."

²³ Jesus said to him, "'If you can?' All things are possible to him who believes."

⁵⁰ But Jesus hearing it, answered him, "Do not be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed."

⁴⁸ Jesus therefore said to him, "Unless you see signs and wonders, you will in no way believe." ⁴⁹ The nobleman said to him, "Sir, come down before my child dies." ⁵⁰ Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your son lives." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.

⁴⁰ Jesus said to her, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see God's glory?"

¹⁸ Who hoped in spite of hopeless circumstances, with the result that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, "so will your descendants be." ¹⁹ And not being weak in faith, he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb. ²⁰ Yet, looking to the promise of God, he did not waver through unbelief, but grew strong through faith, giving glory to God, ²¹ and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was able also to perform. ²² And therefore "it was credited to him as righteousness." ²³ Now it was not written that it was credited to him for his sake alone, ²⁴ but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,

² After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.

³³ He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be greatly troubled and distressed.

⁵¹ When he came to the house, he did not allow anyone to enter in with him, except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother.

⁴⁰ Peter put them all out, and kneeled down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, "Tabitha, get up." She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

¹ This is the third time I am coming to you. "At the mouth of two or three witnesses will every word be established."

¹⁷ Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Consider, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for the skillful women, that they may come:" ¹⁸ "and let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters. ¹⁹ For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, 'How are we ruined. We are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.'" ²⁰ "Yet hear the word of the LORD, you women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth; and teach your daughters wailing, and everyone her neighbor lamentation.

²³ And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the flute players, and the crowd in noisy disorder, ²⁴ he said, "Go away, for the girl is not dead, but asleep." And they laughed at him.

¹⁷ and say, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance. We wailed in mourning, and you did not mourn.'

⁵² All were weeping and mourning her, but he said, "Do not weep. She is not dead, but sleeping." ⁵³ They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead.

³⁹ Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper chamber. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

² Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

¹¹ He said these things, and after that, he said to them, "Our friend, Lazarus, has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I may awake him out of sleep." ¹² Then the disciples said to him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover." ¹³ Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he spoke of taking rest in sleep.

¹⁰ Paul went down, and fell upon him, and embracing him said, "Do not be troubled, for his life is in him."

³⁰ For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep.

¹³ But we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you do not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. ¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

¹⁰ who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

¹⁴ Lot went out, and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters, and said, "Get up. Get out of this place, for God will destroy the city." But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be joking.

³³ He went in therefore, and shut the door on them both, and prayed to the LORD.

¹⁹ But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they ridiculed us, and despised us, and said, "What is this thing that you are doing? Will you rebel against the king?"

⁴ I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke.

⁷ All those who see me mock me. They insult me with their lips. They shake their heads, saying,

³ Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt. ⁴ Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scoffing of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud.

⁶ "Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before the pigs, or they will trample them under their feet and turn and tear you to pieces.

²⁴ he said, "Go away, for the girl is not dead, but asleep." And they laughed at him. ²⁵ But when the crowd was put out, he entered in, took her by the hand, and the girl arose.

⁵³ They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead. ⁵⁴ But he, taking her by the hand, called, saying, "Child, arise."

¹⁴ The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they scoffed at him.

³² Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked; but others said, "We want to hear you again concerning this."

³ And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

⁹ For he spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood firm.

³¹ And he came and took her by the hand, and raised her up. The fever left her, and she served them.

⁴¹ And being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing. Be cleansed."

¹⁴ He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, "Young man, I tell you, arise." ¹⁵ He who was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.

⁵⁴ But he, taking her by the hand, called, saying, "Child, arise." ⁵⁵ Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He commanded that something be given to her to eat.

²⁸ Do not be amazed at this, for the hour comes, in which all that are in the tombs will hear his voice, ²⁹ and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.

⁴³ When he had said this, he shouted with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out." ⁴⁴ The man who had died came out, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Free him, and let him go."

⁴⁰ Peter put them all out, and kneeled down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, "Tabitha, get up." She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴¹ He gave her his hand, and raised her up. Calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

¹⁷ As it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations." This is in the presence of him whom he believed: God, who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that are not, as though they were.

²¹ who will transform our lowly body into the likeness of his glorious body, according to the power by which he is able even to subject all things to himself.

²⁷ And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him."

⁵¹ And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were completely profusely astonished among themselves;

³⁷ They were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak."

¹⁰ They recognized him, that it was he who used to sit begging for gifts for the needy at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. ¹¹ And as he held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. ¹² When Peter saw it, he responded to the people, "You men of Israel, why are you amazed at this? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk? ¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.

⁴ And Jesus said to him, "See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."

³⁰ And their eyes were opened. And Jesus strictly commanded them, saying, "See that no one knows about this."

¹⁶ and commanded them that they should not make him known. ¹⁷ This was to fulfill what had been spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, ¹⁸ "Look, my servant whom I have chosen; my beloved in whom my soul delights. I will put my Spirit on him; and he will proclaim justice to the nations.

⁹ As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, "Do not tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead."

⁴³ And he strictly warned him, and immediately sent him out,

¹² And he sternly warned them that they should not make him known.

³⁶ He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.

¹⁴ And he commanded him, “Do not tell anyone, but go your way, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them."

⁵⁶ Her parents were amazed, but he commanded them to tell no one what had been done.

³⁰ It happened, that when he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them.

⁴² And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish. ⁴³ And he took it and ate in front of them.

⁴¹ I do not receive glory from people.

⁴¹ not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
