⁵ Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?

¹⁷ So he came near where I stood, and when he came I was frightened, and fell prostrate. But he said to me, "Understand, son of man, that the vision belongs to the time of the end." ¹⁸ Now as he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face toward the ground; but he touched me, and stood me upright.

⁷ I, Daniel, alone saw the vision; for the men who were with me did not see the vision; but a great trembling fell on them, and they fled to hide themselves. ⁸ So I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me; for my natural appearance grew deathly pale, and I retained no strength. ⁹ Yet I heard the sound of his words, and when I heard the sound of his words, then I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground. ¹⁰ Look, a hand touched me, which set me on my knees and on the palms of my hands. ¹¹ He said to me, "Daniel, man greatly loved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright; for I have now been sent to you." ³ His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. ⁴ For fear of him, the guards shook, and became like dead men. ⁵ The angel answered the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified.
