²⁷ But bring those enemies of mine who did not want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.'"

³⁶ The men, whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up an evil report against the land, ³⁷ even those men who brought up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

³⁰ But if the LORD make a new thing, and the ground open its mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain to them, and they go down alive into Sheol; then you shall understand that these men have despised the LORD." ³¹ It happened, as he made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground split apart that was under them; ³² and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men who appertained to Korah, and all their goods. ³³ So they, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into Sheol: and the earth closed on them, and they perished from among the assembly. ³⁴ All Israel that were around them fled at their cry; for they said, "Lest the earth swallow us up." ³⁵ Fire came forth from the LORD, and devoured the two hundred fifty men who offered the incense.

³ "Letʼs tear off their shackles, and throw off their ropes from us." ⁴ The one who sits in the heavens laughs. The LORD scoffs at them. ⁵ Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:

⁹ You shall rule them with an iron scepter. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel."

⁸ Your hand will find out all of your enemies. Your right hand will find all those who hate you. ⁹ You will make them as a fiery furnace in the time of your anger. The LORD will swallow them up in his wrath. The fire shall devour them.

²² Let their table before them become a snare, and a retribution, and a trap, and a stumbling block. ²³ Let their eyes be darkened, so that they can't see, and make their backs weak continually. ²⁴ Pour out your indignation on them. Let the fierceness of your anger overtake them. ²⁵ Let their habitation be desolate, and let no one dwell in their tents. ²⁶ For they persecute him whom you have wounded. They tell of the sorrow of those whom you have hurt. ²⁷ Charge them with crime upon crime. Do not let them come into your righteousness. ²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the Book of Life, and not be written with the righteous.

⁶ A voice of tumult from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that renders recompense to his enemies.

¹⁴ You will see it, and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like the tender grass: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants; and he will have indignation against his enemies.

² The LORD is a jealous God and avenges. The LORD avenges and is full of wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on his adversaries, and he maintains wrath against his enemies.

⁸ But with an overflowing flood, he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.

³⁷ But afterward he sent to them his son, saying, 'They will respect my son.' ³⁸ But the tenants, when they saw the son, said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and have his inheritance.' ³⁹ So they took him, and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. ⁴⁰ When therefore the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?" ⁴¹ They told him, "He will utterly destroy those evil men, and will lease out the vineyard to other tenants, who will give him the fruit in its season."

⁷ The king was enraged, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.

³⁴ Therefore, look, I send to you prophets, wise people, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify; and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city; ³⁵ that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berechiah, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the altar. ³⁶ Truly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.

¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, 'We do not want this man to reign over us.'

⁴² saying, "If you, even you, had known today the things that make for peace. But now, they are hidden from your eyes. ⁴³ For the days will come on you, when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side, ⁴⁴ and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you did not know the time of your visitation."

¹⁶ He will come and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others." When they heard it, they said, "May it never be."

²² For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

²⁴ And they will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive into all the nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled down by non-Jewish people until the times are fulfilled. And there will be times of the non-Jewish people.

¹⁵ who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out, and did not please God, and are hostile to all people; ¹⁶ forbidding us to speak to those who are not Jewish that they may be saved; to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.

¹³ from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.
