¹⁹ The people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and camped in Gilgal, on the east border of Jericho.

² "This month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you. ³ Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, 'On the tenth day of this month, they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers' houses, a lamb for a household;

⁹ And the LORD said to Joshua, "Today I have rolled away the disgrace of Egypt from off you." Therefore the name of that place was called Gilgal, to this day.

⁶ The men of Gibeon sent to Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, "Do not abandon your servants. Come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us; for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the hill country have gathered together against us."

⁴³ Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp to Gilgal.
