² Now Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the wedding.

⁴⁰ Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. ⁴¹ The one who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward. The one who receives a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive a righteous person's reward. ⁴² And whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink because he is a disciple, truly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward."

¹⁹ He will not quarrel, nor shout; nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.

⁴⁰ "The King will answer them, 'Truly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

⁴⁰ One of the two who heard John, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. ⁴¹ He first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah." (which is translated, Christ). ⁴² He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said, "You are Simon the son of John. You will be called Cephas" (which is translated, Peter). ⁴³ On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. And Jesus said to him, "Follow me." ⁴⁴ Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter. ⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, "We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and the Prophets wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." ⁴⁶ And Nathanael said to him, "Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." ⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and said about him, "Look, a true Israelite in whom there is no deceit." ⁴⁸ Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." ⁴⁹ Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God. You are King of Israel."

³⁹ A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whomever she desires, only in the Lord.

³¹ Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

¹⁷ Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him.

⁴ Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

²⁰ Look, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me.
