⁵¹ Now he did not say this of himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation,

³⁰ You are to put in the breastplate for judging the Urim and the Thummim; and they are to be over Aaronʼs heart, when he goes in before the LORD. And Aaron will carry the means to make decisions for the children of Israel over his heart before the LORD continually.

²⁸ And God opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?"

² Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came on him.

They shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber. He also shall come to destruction." ²⁵ Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.

²⁷ The children of Israel asked of the LORD (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days, ²⁸ and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), "Shall I yet again go out to battle against the people of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease?" The LORD said, "Go up; for tomorrow I will deliver him into your hand."

⁹ David knew that Saul was devising mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, "Bring the ephod here."

⁶ When Saul inquired of the LORD, The LORD did not answer him, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

⁵ But he was pierced for our transgressions, and he was crushed for our iniquities. ²⁶ After the sixty-two weeks the Messiah shall be cut off, and shall have nothing. And the people of a ruler who shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and his end shall come with a flood, and until the end there shall be war; desolations are decreed.

²² Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did not we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?' ²³ And then I will tell them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.'

²⁸ even as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

¹⁵ even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.

²⁵ whom God set forth whom God displayed publicly as a mercy seat, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, because in God's forbearance he had passed over the sins previously committed; ²⁶ to demonstrate his righteousness at this present time, so that he would be just, and the justifier of him who has faith in Jesus.

⁴ But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law, ⁵ that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of children.

²⁴ who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose wounds you were healed.

¹⁸ Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

¹⁵ Forsaking the right way they went astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness. ¹⁶ But he was rebuked for his own transgression; a donkey that could not talk spoke with a human voice and stopped the irrationality of the prophet. ¹⁷ These are wells without water, and mists driven by a storm; for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved.
