¹² Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.

⁷ For the LORD your God brings you into a good and spacious land, a land of brooks of water, of springs, and underground water flowing into valleys and hills; ⁸ a land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig trees and pomegranates; a land of olive trees and honey;

¹¹ but the land, where you go over to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys which drinks water of the rain of the sky, ¹² a land which the LORD your God cares for: the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year.

¹¹ My eyes are worn out from weeping, my stomach is churning. My heart is poured on the earth, because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, because the young children and the infants faint in the streets of the city.

³ Even the jackals offer the breast, they nurse their young ones, but the daughter of my people has become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness. ⁴ The nursing infant's tongue sticks to the roof of his mouth for thirst. The young children ask for bread, but no one gives to them.

⁶ in that day I swore to them, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.
