⁶ Therefore, we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord;

¹⁵ For we are strangers before you, and foreigners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no remaining.

³ Though an army is deployed against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident. ⁴ One thing I have asked of the LORD, that I will seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to see the LORD's beauty, and to inquire in his temple.

²⁰ For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; ²¹ who will transform our lowly body into the likeness of his glorious body, according to the power by which he is able even to subject all things to himself.

³⁵ Therefore do not throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.

¹³ These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and embraced them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and temporary residents on the earth.

¹⁴ For we do not have here an enduring city, but we seek that which is to come.

¹ Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed.
