42 And, as it was the eve of preparation, which precedeth the sabbath, 43 Joseph of Ramath, an honorable counsellor, who also himself waited for the kingdom of God, came, and assuming courage, went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. 44 And Pilate wondered that he should be already dead. And he called the centurion, and inquired if he had been any time dead. 45 And when he learned it, he gave his body to Joseph. 46 And Joseph bought fine linen, and took it down, and wrapped it in the linen, and deposited it in a sepulchre that was hewed in a rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the sepulchre. 47 And Mary Magdalena and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid.

38 After these things, Joseph of Ramath, (for he was a disciple of Jesus, and kept concealed through fear of the Jews,) requested of Pilate, that he might take away the body of Jesus.
