² And they found the stone rolled from the sepulchre.

⁶⁰ and laid it in his new sepulchre, that was excavated in a rock. And he rolled a great stone against the door of the sepulchre, and departed: ⁶¹ And there were present Mary of Magdala, and the other Mary, who sat over against the grave. ⁶² And on the day that was next after the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees assembled before Pilate, ⁶³ and said to him: Our Lord, we remember that this deceiver said, while he was alive, After three days, I shall arise. ⁶⁴ Command, therefore to guard the sepulchre; until the third day; lest his disciples come and steal him away by night, and say to the people that he hath risen from the dead; and the last delusion be worse than the first. ⁶⁵ Pilate said to them: Ye have soldiers: go and guard it, as ye know how. ⁶⁶ And they went and set a guard to the sepulchre, and sealed the stone.

² And lo, there was a great earthquake: for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled away the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

⁴⁶ And Joseph bought fine linen, and took it down, and wrapped it in the linen, and deposited it in a sepulchre that was hewed in a rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the sepulchre. ⁴⁷ And Mary Magdalena and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid.

³ And they said among them. selves: Who will roll back for us the stone from the door of the sepulchre? ⁴ And they looked, and saw that the stone was rolled away; for it was very great.

¹ And the first day of the week, in the morning, while it was yet dark, Mary Magdalena came to the sepulchre: and she saw that the stone was removed from the grave. ² And she ran, and came to Simon Cephas, and to that other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them: They have taken away our Lord from the sepulchre, and I know not where they have laid him.
