¹² But Simon arose, and ran to the sepulchre, and looked in, and saw the linen lying by itself: and he went away wondering in himself at what had occurred.

³ And Simon set out, and the other disciple, and they were going to the sepulchre. ⁴ And they both ran together; but that disciple outran Simon, and came first to the sepulchre. ⁵ And he looked in, and saw the linen cloths lying: but he did not go in. ⁶ And after him came Simon; and he entered the sepulchre, and saw the linen cloths lying; ⁷ and the napkin, that had been wrapped about his head, was not with the linen cloths, but was folded up, and laid in a place by itself. ⁸ Then entered also the disciple who came first to the sepulchre; and he saw, and believed. ⁹ For they had not yet learned from the scriptures, that he was to arise from the dead. ¹⁰ And those disciples went away again to their place.
