⁹ Why, we had fathers of our flesh to discipline us, and we yielded to them! Shall we not far more submit to the Father of our spirits, and so live?

⁶ What is born of the flesh is flesh: what is born of the Spirit is Spirit.

³⁰ (He was a prophet; he knew God had sworn an oath to him that he would seat one of his descendants on his throne;

³ concerning his Son, who was born of David's offspring by natural descent

³ I could have wished myself accursed and banished from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my natural kinsmen;

⁵ the patriarchs are theirs, and theirs too (so far as natural descent goes) is the Christ. (Blessed for evermore be the God who is over all! Amen.)
