⁹ Thou rulest the pryde of the sea, thou stillest the waues therof, when they aryse.

⁸ Who shut the sea with dores, when it brake forth as a chyld oute of his mothers wombe? ⁹ When I made the cloudes to be a coueryng for it, & swadled it wyth the darcke? ¹⁰ when I gaue it my commaundement, makynge dores & barres for it, ¹¹ saying: Hytherto shalt thou come, but no forther, & here shalte thou laye doune thy proude & hye waues.

¹⁰ The Lord stilleth the water floud, and the Lord remaineth a king for euer.

⁷ Which stilleth the ragynge of the sea, the roarynge of his waues, and the woodnes of the people.

⁵ O come hyther and beholde the worckes of God, which is so wonderful in his doinges amonge the chyldren of men. ⁶ He turned the sea into drye lande, so that they wente thorow the water on fote: therefore wyll we reioyse in him.

³ The floudes aryse (O Lorde) the floudes lyft vp their noyse, the floudes lyfte vp theyr waues. ⁴ The waues of the sea are mightye, & rage horribly: but yet the Lorde that dwelled on hye, is mightier.

²⁵ For at his worde, the stormy winde aryseth, and lifteth vp the waues therof. ²⁶ They are caryed vp to the heauen, & doun agayne too the deape, their soule melteth awaye in the trouble. ²⁷ They rele to and fro, they stacker lyke a droncken man, and are at their wittes ende. ²⁸ So they crye vnto the Lorde in their trouble, and he delyuereth them oute of their distresse. ²⁹ He maketh the storme to ceasse, so that the waues are styll.

⁴ When he reproueth the sea, he drieth it vp, and turneth all the floudes to drye lande. Basan is desolate, Charmel & the pleasure of Lybanus wasteth awaye.

²⁴ And beholde there arose a great tempest in the sea, in so much that the shippe was couered with waues, and he was a slepe. ²⁵ And his discyples came vnto him, and awoke him sayinge: master saue vs, we peryshe. ²⁶ And he sayed vnto them: why are ye fearfull, O ye of lytle fayth? Then he arose, and rebuked the wyndes and the sea, and there folowed a great calme. ²⁷ And the men maruayled and sayed: what man is this, that both wyndes and sea obey hym?

³² And assone as they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

³⁹ And he rose vp, and rebuked the wynd and sayed vnto the sea: peace and be styll. And the wynde alayed, and there folowed a great calme.

⁴¹ And they feared excedynglye, and sayed one to another: What felowe is thys. For both wynde and sea obeye hym.
