² that thyne eare may herken vnto wisdome, applie thyne hert then to vnderstanding.

¹² O teach vs to numbre our daies, that we maye apply our hertes vnto wisdome.

¹¹¹ Thy testimonyes haue I claymed as myne heritage for euer: and why? thei are the very ioye of my herte. ¹¹² I applye myne herte to fulfil thy statutes alwaye, euen vnto the ende.

¹ Who so hath pleasure to sow dyscorde, pyketh a quarel in euery thyng.

¹⁷ My sonne, bow down thine eare, and herken vnto the wordes of wysdome, applye thy mynde vnto my doctryne: ¹⁸ for it is a plesaunt thyng if thou kepe it in thyne hert, and practise it in thy mouth: ¹⁹ that thou mayest alwaye put thy truste in the Lorde. ²⁰ Haue not I warned the very oft with counsel & lerning? ²¹ that I might shew the truth andt that thou with the verity myghtest answere them that lay any thynge agaynst the?

¹² Applie thine herte vnto learning, and thine eare to the words of knowledge.

²⁵ I aplied my minde also vnto knowledg, and to seke out science wysdome and vnderstandynge: to know the foolishnesse of the vngodly, and the erroure of dotynge fooles.

⁹ All these thynges haue I consydered, and applyed my mynde vnto euerye worcke that is vnder the Sonne: howe one man hath lordshyppe vpon another to hys owne harme.

¹⁶ When I applied my mind to learne wysdome, and to knowe the trauail that is in the worlde (and that of such a fashion, that I suffred not myne eyes to slepe nether daye ner nyghte)

³ Encline youre eares, & come vnto me, take hede, & your soule shall lyue. For I wyll make an euerlastynge couenaunt wyth you, euen the sure mercyes of Dauid.

⁹ Whosoeuer hath eares to heare let hym heare.

¹¹ These were the noblest of byrthe among them of Thessalonia whiche receyued the worde with al diligence of mynde, and searched the scriptures daylye whether those thynges were euen so.
