²¹ Death & lyfe stand in the power of the tong, he that loueth it shal enioy the frute thereof.

¹⁹ Where much babling is, ther must nedes be offence: he that refraineth his lippes is wisest of all. ²⁰ An innocent tong is a noble treasure, but the hert of the vngodly is nothynge worthe. ²¹ The lyppes of the rightuous fed a whole multitude, but foles shal die in their owne folye.

³¹ The mouth of the iust wilbe talkyng of wisdome, but the tonge of the frowarde shall perysh.

³⁰ The frute of the righteous is as the tree of lyfe, a wyse man also wynneth mens soules.

¹³ The wicked falleth into the snare thorow the malyce of his own mouth, but the iust shal escape out of parel.

² A good man shall enioye the fruite of hys mouth, but he that hath a froward mind shalbe spoyled. ³ He that kepeth his mouth, kepeth his lyfe: but who so speaketh vnaduised findeth harme.

⁴ The wordes of mans mouth are lyke depe waters, and the well of wysdome is lyke a full streame. ⁵ It is not good to a regarde the personne of the vngodly, or to put backe the ryghteous in iudgmente. ⁶ A fooles lippes are euer brawling, and his mouth prouoketh vnto battayll. ⁷ A fooles mouth is hys owne destruccion and his lippes are the snare for his owne soule.

¹² The wordes of out a wyse mans mouth are gracious, but the lippes of a fole wil destroy hym self. ¹³ The begynnyng of his talkynge is foolishnes, and the last worde of his mouth is great madnesse. ¹⁴ A foole is so full of woordes, that a man can not tell what ende he will make: who will then warne hym to make a conclusion?

¹⁹ I make the frutes of thankesgeuynge. I geue peace vnto them that are farre of, and to them that are nye. saye I the Lord, that make hym whole.

³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of hys herte, bringeth forth good thinges. And an euill man out of his euill treasure, bringeth forth euil thinges. ³⁶ But I say vnto you, that of euery idell worde that men shall haue spoken: they shall geue a countes at the daye of iudgement. ³⁷ For thy wordes thou shalt be iustified: & by thy wordes thou shalt be condemned.

¹⁴ But how shall they call on hym, on whom they beleued not? howe shall they beleue no hym of whom they haue not hearde? howe shall they heare withoute a preacher? ¹⁵ And howe shall they preache except they be sent? As it is wrytten: howe beautyfull are the fete of them whiche brynge glad tydynges of peace, and bryng glad tydynges of good thynges.

¹⁶ To the one part are we the sauoure of death vnto death. And vnto the other parte are we the lauoure of lyfe vnto lyfe. And who is mete vnto these thynges?

¹⁵ Therfore it is no greate thynge, thoughe hys mynysters fashyon them selues as thoughe they were the mynisters of rightuousnes, whose end shalbe accordynge to theyr dedes.

²⁹ Let no fylthy communication procede out of your mouthes: but that whiche is good to edefye wyth all, when nede is: that it maye haue fauoure with the hearers.

⁶ Let youre speache be alwayes well sauoured and poudred with salte, that ye maye knowe, howe to answere euery man.

¹⁰ For there are many dysobedyent: & talkers of vanitye and disceyuers of myndes, namely they of the circumcision, ¹¹ whose mouthes must be stopped: whiche peruerte whole houses teachynge thynges whiche they oughte not because of fylthy lucre.

⁶ and the tonge is fyre, and a worlde of wickednes. So is the tong set among our members, that it defyleth the whole body and setteth a fyre all that we haue of nature, & is it selfe set a fyre euen of hell. ⁷ All the natures of beastes, and of byrdes, and of serpentes, and thynges of the sea, are meked and tamed of the nature of man. ⁸ But the tonge can no man tame. It is an vnrulye euyll ful of deadly poyson. ⁹ Therewyth blesse we God the father, and therewyth cursse wemen which are made after the similitude of God.

¹⁸ For when they haue spoken the swellinge wordes of vanitie, they begyle with wantonnes thorowe the lustes of the fleshe, them that were cleane escaped, but nowe are wrapped in errours.
