² A man thynketh al his waies to be cleane, but it is the Lord that fashyoneth the mindes

¹³ And when Samuel was come to Saule, Saule sayde vnto hym: Blessed be thou in the Lorde. I haue done the commaundemente of the Lorde. ¹⁴ And Samuel aunswered: what meaneth then the bleatynge of the shepe in myne eares, & the noyse of the oxen whiche I heare?

⁷ But the Lorde sayde vnto Samuel: loke not on his fashion nor on the height of hys stature, for I haue refused hym. Because it is not as man seyth. For man loketh on the outward apperaunce, but the Lorde beholdeth the harte.

² For he dissembleth before his face, so longe tyll hys abhominable sinne be founde out.

²¹ For euery mannes waies are open in the sight of the Lorde, and he pondreth all their goynges.

²⁵ Ther is away that men thinke to be right but the ende thereof leadeth vnto death.

² Euery man thynketh hys owne waye to be ryght, but the Lord iudgeth the herts.

¹² If thou wylt saye: I knewe not of it. Thinkest thou that he which made the herts, doth not consider it? & that he which regardeth thy soule, seyth it not? Shall not he recompence euerye man accordynge to his workes?

¹² The generacion that thynke them selfes cleane, shall not be clensed from their filthynesse.

⁷ Thou (Lorde) consydrest the path of the ryghteous, whether it be ryghte, whether the waye of the ryghteous be ryght.

²² Yea, & that so sore: that thoughe thou wasshe the with Nitrus, and make thy self to fauoure with that swete smelling herbe of Borith: yet in my sight thou art stayned with thy wyckednesse, sayeth the Lorde thy God. ²³ Saye not now: I am not vncleane, and I haue not folowed the Goddes. Loke vpon thyne owne wayes in the woddes, valleyes and dennes, so shalt thou knowe, what thou hast done. Thou art lyke a swyft Dromedary, that goeth easely in his waye:

¹⁰ Euen I the Lorde search out the grounde of the herte, & trye the reynes, and rewarde euery man accordinge to hys wayes, and acordynge to the fruyte of his councels.

²⁷ Thetel, thou arte weyed in the balaunce and arte founde to lyghte:

¹⁵ And he sayde vnto them: Ye are they whiche iustifye your selues before men: but God knoweth your hertes. For that which is highly estemed amonge men, is abhominable in the syght of God.

⁹ And he put forth thys similytude vnto certayne, which thrusted in them selues that they were perfecte, and despyseth other. ¹⁰ Two men went vp into the temple to praye, the one a pharise and the other a publican. ¹¹ The Pharyse stode and prayed thus with hym selfe: God I thanke the, that I am not as other men are, extorsioners, vniust, aduouterers, or as this publican,

⁷ What shall we saye then? Is the lawe synne? God forbid: but I knewe not what synne meante but by the law. For I had not knowne what luste had meant, except the lawe had sayed, thou shalte, not lust. ⁸ But synne toke an occasion by the meanes of the commaundement, and wrought in me al maner of concupiscence. For without the lawe, synne was dead. ⁹ I ones liued without lawe. But when the commaundemente came, synne reuyued, & I was deade.

¹⁸ And vnto the messenger of the congregacion of Thiatyra wryte. This sayth the sonne of God, which hath hys eyes lyke vnto flame of fyre, whose feete are lyke brasse:

²³ And I will kyl her chyldren wyth death. And all the congregacions shal know, that I am he, whiche searched the reynes and hertes. And I will geue vnto euery one of you according vnto youre workes.
