¹⁷ An vngodly messanger bryngeth myschyefe, but a faythfull embassytour is wholsome.

²⁶ As vyneger is to the tethe, and as smoke is vnto the eyes, euen so sa slougysh person to them that send him forth.

¹³ Lyke as the wynter coole in the haruest, so is a faithfull messenger to him that sent him, & refresheth his masters mynd.

²³ The North wind driueth away the raine, euen so doth an earnest sober countenances backbyters tong.

⁶ He is lame of his fete yea dronken is he in vanite, that committeth any thing to a fole.

¹³ I haue sene foly amonge the Prophetes of Samaria that they preached for Ball, & disceyued my people of Israel. ¹⁴ I haue sene also amonge the Prophetes of Ierusalem foule aduouterye, and presumptuous lyes. They take the moste shamefull men by the hande, flatryng them, so that they can not returne from their wickednes. All these wyth their cytesyns are vnto me, as Sodom, and as the inhabitours of Gomorre. ¹⁵ Therfore thus sayeth the Lorde of Hostes concernynge the prophetes: Beholde, I wyll fede them with wormwod, and make them dryncke the water of gall. For from the prophetes of Ierusalem is the sycknes and ypocrisye come in to all the lande. ¹⁶ And therfore the Lorde of Hostes geueth you this warnynge: Heare not the wordes of the prophetes, that preach vnto you, and disceyue you: for they speake the meanynge of their owne herte, and not out of the mouth of the Lorde.

²⁸ The prophet that hath a dreame, let hym tell it: and he that vnderstandeth my worde, lett hym shewe it faythfully. For what hath chaffe and wheate to do together? sayeth the Lorde.

¹⁸ If I sayde vnto the, concernynge the vngodly man: that (wythout doute) he muste dye, and thou geuest hym not warnynge, ner speakest vnto hym, that he maye turne from hys euell waye, and so to lyue: Then shalll the same vngodly man dye in hys owne vnryghtuousnes: but hys bloude wyll I requyre of thyne hande.

⁷ And now (O thou sonne of man) I haue made the a watcheman vnto the house of Israell: that where as thou hearest anye thynge oute of my mouthe, thou mayest warne them on my behalfe. ⁸ If I say vnto the wicked thou wycked, thou shalte surelye dye: & thou geuest hym not warnynge, that he maye bewarre of his vngodly waye: then shall the wicked dye in hys owne synne, but hys bloude wyll I requyre of thy hand.

² Furthermore it is requyred of the dysposers, that they be found faithfull.

¹⁷ For we are not as many are which choppe & chaunge with the worde of god: but euen out of purenes, and by the power of God, and in the syghte of God, so speake we in Christe.

²⁰ Nowe then are we messengers in the roume of Christ: euen as thoughe God dyd beseche you thorowe vs: So praye we you in Christes stede, that ye be atone with God,

¹² And I thanke Christe Iesus oure Lorde which hath made me stronge: for he counted me true, and put me in offyce,

² And what thynges thou hast hearde of me, manye bearyng wytnes, the same delyuer to faythfull men, whiche are apte to teache other.
