² commaunde the children of Israel and say vnto them: when ye come into the lande of Canaan, thys is the lande that shall fall vnto youre enherytaunce, the lande of Canaan wyth all her costes.

⁶ And when they were come into the Lande of Canaan, Abram went forthe into the Lande tyl he came vnto a place called Sichem, & vnto the oke of More. And the Kananytes dwelled then in the lande. ⁷ Then the Lorde appeared vnto Abram & sayd: vnto thy seed wyll I gyue this lande. And he builded an aulter ther vnto the Lord whyche appeared vnto hym.

¹⁵ for all the Lande whyche thou seest, wyl I gyue vnto the, & to thy sede for euer. ¹⁶ And I wyll make thy sede, as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can numbre the duste of the earth, then shall thy sede also be numbred. ¹⁷ Aryse, and walke about all the Lande, in the length of it, and in the bredth, for I wil giue it vnto them.

¹⁶ and in the fourth generation they shall come hyther agayne, for the wickednesse of the Amorites is not yet full. ¹⁷ When the sonne was downe and it was waxed darcke: beholde, ther was a smokyng furnesse, and a fyrebrand that went betwene the sayde peces. ¹⁸ And that same daye the Lorde made a couenaunte with Abram sayinge: vnto thy seed wyl I geue this land, from the riuer of Egypt, euen vnto the greate ryuer Euphrates, ¹⁹ the Kenytes, the Kenizites, the Cadmonites, ²⁰ the Hethites, the Pherezites, the Raphayms, ²¹ the Amorytes, the Canaanites, the Gergesytes and the Iebusytes.

⁸ And I wyl geue vnto the and to thy seed after the, the lande where in thou arte a straunger: Euen all the lande of Canaan, for an euerlastynge possession & wyl be their God.

⁵¹ speake vnto the children of Israel and saye vnto them: when ye are come ouer Iordan into the lande of Canaan, ⁵² se that ye dryue out all the inhabiters of the lande before you, and destroye their chappelles and all their Images of Metall, and plucke downe all their alters buylte on hylles: ⁵³ And possesse the lande and dwell therin, for I haue geuen you the lande to enioye it.

⁷ departe therfore & take youre iourney and go vnto the hilles of the Amorites and vnto all places nye there vnto: both feldes, hylles and dales: and vnto the south & vnto the sea syde in the lande of Canaan, and vnto Libanon: euen vnto the greate ryuer Euphrates. ⁸ Beholde, I haue sett the land before you: goo in therfore & possess the land whiche the Lorde sware vnto youre fathers Abraham, Isaac and Iacob, to geue vnto them and their seade after them.

⁵ The Lorde him selfe is my good and my porcion, thou mayntaynest myne enherytaunce. ⁶ The lot is fallen vnto me in a fayre ground, yea, I haue a goodly heritage.

⁵⁴ He caryed them vnto the borders of his Sanctuary: euen into thys hyl, which he purchased with hys ryghthande. ⁵⁵ He dyd cast out the Heathen before them, caused their lande to be deuyded among them for an heritage, and made the trybes of Israel to dwell in their tentes.

¹¹ Sayenge: vnto the wyl I geue the land of Canaan, the lot of your heritage.

¹⁹ I haue shewed also, howe I toke the vp beynge but a chylde, & gaue the a pleasaunt lande for thyne heretage, yea & a goodly Hoste of the heathen: & how I commaunded the, that thou shouldest cal me father only, & not to shrynck from me.

¹⁴ Parte it indyfferently vnto one as vnto another: of the which land I swore vnto youre fathers: that it shulde fall to youre enheritaunce.

²⁶ and hath made of one bloude all nacyons of men, for to dwell on al the face of the earth, and hath assygned before howe longe tyme, and also the endes of theyr inhabitacyon,

¹⁸ to open theyr eyes, that they myght turne from darckenes to lyght, and from the power of Satan vnto God: that they maye receiue forgeuenes of synnes, and inheritaunce amonge them whyche are sanctyfyed by fayth in me.

¹⁴ whiche is the ernest of oure inheritaunce, to redeme the purchased possessyon, and that vnto the lande of hys glorye.

¹⁸ and lyghten the eyes of youre myndes that ye myght knowe what that hope is, where vnto he hath called you, and what the ryches of hys gloryous inheritaunce is vpon the saynctes,

³ Blessed be God the father of oure Lorde Iesus Christe, whiche thorowe his aboundaunt mercye begat vs agayne vnto lyuely hope by the resurreccyon of Iesus Christe from death, ⁴ to enioye an enherytaunce immortall & vndefyled, and that putryfyeth not, reserued in heauen for you,
