⁴¹ And on the mornynge Balac toke Balam and brought hym vp into the hye place of Baal: and thence he sawe vnto the vtmost part of the people.

²⁸ for there is a fyre gone out of Hesbone & a flame from the city of Sehon & hath consumed Ar of the Moabites and the men of the hilles of Arnon.

¹³ And Balac sayd vnto hym: Come I pray the with me to an other place whence thou shalt se them, and shalt se but the vtmoste parte of theim and shall not se theim all and curse me them there.

² whych called the people vnto the sacrifice of theyr Goddes. And the people ate & worshypped their Goddes, ³ and Israel coupled him selfe vnto Baal Peor. Then the Lorde was angry with Israel,

² Se that ye destroy all places where the nations whyche ye conquere serue theyr Goddes, vpon hye mountaynes, and on hye hylles, & vnder euery grene tre.

¹⁵ And he ordeyned hym priestes of hyl aulters bothe to felde deuylles and also to the calues which he had made.

³⁵ Moreouer, I wyll make Moab ceasse (sayeth the Lorde) from the offerynges & censynge that the hath made vnto her Goddes in hye places.
