⁵⁷ And there arose certayne and brought false wytnes agaynst hym, saiinge:

⁸ Nowe when he had spoken oute all the wordes, that the Lorde commaunded hym to preach vnto all the people, then the Priestes, the Prophetes, and all the people toke holde vpon him, and sayde: thou shalte dye. ⁹ How darrest thou be so bolde, as to saye in the name of the Lord it shall happen to thys house as it dyd vnto Siloh? and this citie shalbe so waste, that no man shall dwell therein?

¹⁸ Micheah the Morasthite, which was a Prophet vnder Ezekiah kynge of Iuda, spake to all the people of Iuda: Thus sayeth the Lorde of Hostes: Syon shalbe plowed lyke a felde, Ierusalem shalbe an heape of stones, and the hyll of the Lordes house shalbe turned to an hye wood.

⁶⁰ but founde none in so muche that when manye false wytnesses came yet founde they none. At the laste came two false wytnesses, ⁶¹ and sayed: Thys fellowe sayed: I can destroye the temple of God and buylde it agayne in thre dayes.

⁴⁰ & sayinge: Thou that destroyest the temple of God and buyldest it in thre dayes: saue thy selfe. If thou be the sonne of God: come doune from the crosse.

²⁹ And they that wente by rayled on hym: waggynge their heades and sayinge: A wretche, that destroyest the temple, and buyldest it in thre dayes:

¹⁸ Then aunswered the Iewes & saied to him: what token shewest thou vnto vs, seyng that thou dost these thinges? ¹⁹ Iesus aunswered and said vnto them: destroy thys temple & in thre dayes. I wyll reare it vp again. ²⁰ Then said the Iewes .xlvi. yeres was thys temple a buildynge, and wylt thou reare it vp in .iij. daies? ²¹ But he spake of the temple of hys bodie.

¹³ and brought him to the counsell and brought forth false witnesses whiche sayde. This man ceaseth not to speake blaspemous wordes against thys holy place, and the lawe, ¹⁴ for we hearde him saie: this Iesus of Nazareth shall destroye this place, and shal chaung the ordinaunces, which Moises gaue vs.
