⁴⁵ Then aunswered one of the lawyers, and sayed vnto hym: Mayster, thus saiyng, thou puttest vs to rebuke also.

⁸ And the kynge of Israell sayde to Iehosaphat: there is yet one, by whome we maye aske counsel of the Lorde, one Micheah the sonne of Iemlah. But I hate hym: for he neuer prophesyeth good vnto me, but euyl. And Iehosaphat sayde: let not the kinge saye so.

¹⁰ But vnto whome shall I speake, whome shall I warne that he maye take hede? Theyr eares are so vncircumcyced, that they maye not heare. Beholde, they take the worde of God but for a scorne, & haue no luste therto.

⁸ because I haue now preached longe agaynst malycious Tyranny, & shewed them of destruccion. For the which cause they cast the worde of the Lorde in my teeth, and take me euer to the worst.

¹⁰ Vpon this sent Amasiah the prest to Bethell vnto Ieroboam the kynge of Israel, sayinge: Amos maketh the house of Israel to rebell agaynst the, the lande can not awaye with his wordes. ¹¹ For Amos sayeth, Ieroboam shall dye with the swearde, and Israel shall be led awaye captyue oute of theyr owne land. ¹² And Amasiah sayde vnto Amos: Get the hence (thou that caust se so well) & fle into the lande of Iuda: get the there thy lyuynge, and prophecye there: ¹³ and prophecye no more at Bethell, for it is the kynges chapell, and the kynges courte.

³⁵ and one of them whiche was a doctoure of lawe, axed a question temptyng hym and sayinge:

⁴⁶ Then he sayde: Wo be to you also ye lawyars, for ye lade men wt burthens greuous to be borne, and ye youre selues touche not the packes with one of your fyngers.

⁵² Wo be to you lawyers: for ye haue taken away the keye of knoweledge, ye entred not in your selues, and them that came in, ye forbade.

⁷ The worlde can not hate you. But me it hateth: because I testifye of it, that the workes of it are euyll.

⁴⁸ Doth anye of the rulers or the Phariseis beleue on hym?

⁴⁰ And some of the Pharises whiche were with him, hearde these wordes, and sayde vnto hym: are we then blynde?
