²⁴ And Iosua toke Acan the sonne of Zareh, and the syluer, and the garment, and the tonge of golde, and hys sonnes and hys doughters, hys oxen, asses, shepe, hys tente and all that he had, and all Israell wyth him, & brought them vnto the valeye of Acor.

²⁵ That be farre from the, that thou shuldest do after this maner, to sley the rightwes wt the wicked, & that the rightwes shuld be as the wicked: that be farre from the. Shulde not the iudge of all the worlde do acordynge to ryghte?

⁵ Se that thou neither bowe thy self vnto them neither serue them: for I the Lord thy God, am a gelouse God, & viset the synne of the fathers vppon the chyldren vnto the thyrd and fourth generacion of them that hate me:

²⁷ And they gate them from the dwellynge of Corah, Dathan, and Abiram on euerye syde. And Dathan and Abiram came oute and stode in the dore of theyr tentes wyth theyr wyues, theyr sonne and theyr children. ²⁸ And Moses sayed hereby ye shall knowe that the Lorde hath sente me, to do all these worckes, & that I haue not done them of mine own mynd: ²⁹ If these men dye the commen death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men, then the Lorde hathe not sent me. ³⁰ But and if the Lorde make a newe thyng, and the earth open hyr mouth & swalowe theim, and all that pertayne vnto them, so that they go downe quicke vnto hel: then ye shal vnderstand, that these men haue rayled vpon the Lord. ³¹ And assone as he hadde made an ende of speakyng al these wordes, the ground cloue a sunder that was vnder them,

¹⁸ And in any wyse beware of the excommunicate thynges, leaste ye make your selues excommunicate. For yf you take of the excommunicate thynges, so shall you make the hoste of Israel excommunicate and shall trouble it.

²¹ and toke the cytye. And they vtterlye destroyed al that was in the cytye, bothe man and woman, younge & olde, oxe, shepe, & Asse, wyth the edge of the swerde.

¹ But yet the children of Israel trespased in the excommunicate thinges for Acan the sonne of Carmi, the sonne of Zabdi, the sonne of Zareh of the trybe of Iuda, toke of the excommunicate thinges. And the wrath of the Lorde waxed whote agaynst the chyldren of Israel.

²⁶ And they caste vpon hym a great heape of stones that remaineth vnto thys daye. And so the Lorde turned from hys fearce wrath. Wherfore the name of the place is called the valeye of Acor vnto thys daye.

⁷ And then went vp to Dabir from the valeye of Acor, & so northwarde, turnyng toward Galgal that lyeth before the goyng vp to Adonim, whych is of the southe syde of the Ryuer. And then went a longe to the water of Ensemes, and ended at the well of Rogell.

¹⁵ The ryches that he deuoureth, shall he perbreake agayne, for God shal draw them out of his bely

²³ For though the wicked haue neuer so much to fyll his bely, yet God shall send his wrath vpon hym, and cause hys battaill to raygne ouer him: ²⁴ so that yf he fle the yron wepens, he shall be shott with the stele bowe. ²⁵ The arow shal be taken forth, and go out at hys backe, and a glistering swearde thorow the gall of him, feare shall come vpon him. ²⁶ There shal no darcknes be able to hyd him. And vnkindled fyre shall consume him, and loke what remayneth in his house, it shalbe destroyed. ²⁷ The heauen shal declare his wickednesse, and the earth shall take parte agaynst hym. ²⁸ The substaunce that he hath in hys house, shalbe taken away and peryshe, in the daye of the Lordes wrath.

²⁷ The couetous man roteth vp his owne house, but who so hateth rewardes shall liue.

¹³ Yet is there a sore plague, whiche I haue sene vnder the sunne (namely) ryches kept to the hurt of him that hath them in possession.

¹⁰ Saron shalbe a shepefolde, and the valleye of Achor shall geue the stallinge for the catel of my people, that feare me.

¹³ Beholde, I haue smitten my handes vpon thy couetousnesse, that thou hast vsed, and vpon the bloude whyche hath bene shed in the. ¹⁴ Is thy herte able to endure it, or may thy handes defende them selues in the tyme that I shall brynge vpon the? Euen I the Lorde that speake it, will brynge it also to passe.

¹⁵ there wil I geue her her vineiardes agayne: yea and the valleye of Achor also to shewe her hope and comforte. Then shall she singe there as in the time of her youthe, & lyke as in the day when she came oute of the lande of Egipte.

⁹ They that wyll be rych, fall into temptacyon and snares, and into many folysh and noysome lustes which drowne men in perdicyon and destruccyon. ¹⁰ For couetousnes is the rote of all euyll, whiche whyle some lusted after, they erred from the faythe and tangled them selues wyth manye sorowes.
