And these oure garmentes and shoes are waxen olde by the reason of the exceading long Iourneye. ¹⁴ And the men toke of their vitayles, and conceled not wyth the mouth of the Lorde. ¹⁵ And Iosua made a peace wyth them, and made a couenaunte with them, to saue their lyues, and the Lordes of the congregacyon sware vnto them. ¹⁶ But thre dayes after they had made peace with them, they hearde that they were neighboures vnto them, & that they dwelt amonge them. ¹⁷ For the children of Israel toke their Iourney, and came vnto their cities the thirde daye, and their cities were Gabaon, Caphira, Beeroth, and Kariath Iarim. ¹⁸ And the children of Israell slewe them not, because the Lordes of the congregacion had sworne vnto them by the Lord God of Israel. And therfore al the multitude murmured against the Lordes. ¹⁹ But al the Lordes said vnto al the congregacion, we haue sworne vnto them by the Lorde God of Israel, and therfore we maye not hurte them. ²⁰ But thys we will do to them and let them liue, and so shal no wrath be vpon vs because of the othe which we sware vnto them. ²¹ And the Lordes sayde vnto them, that they should lyue: And they were made hewers of woode and drawers of water vnto al the congregacion, as the Lordes sayde vnto them. ²² Then Iosua sent for them, and talked wyth them, and sayde, wherfore haue ye begiled vs and yet ye dwel amonge vs? ²³ and nowe therfore cursed be you, and there shall not cease to be of you, bond men and hewers of woode & drawers of water vnto the house of my God. ²⁴ And they answered Iosua and sayde, it was tolde thy seruauntes, how that the Lorde thy God had commaunded his seruaunt Moses to geue you al the lande, and to destroye all the Enhabitoures therof oute of youre syghte, and therfore we were exceadinge sore afrayed of oure liues because of you,

¹ A songe and Psalme of Asaph. Holde not thy tongue, O God, kepe not styll silence, refrayne not thy self O God. ² For lo, thyne enemies make a murmurynge, and they that hate the, lyft vp their heade. ³ They ymagyn craftely agaynst thy people, and take counsayll agaynste thy secrete ones.

¹² Thou hast made the north and the south, Tabor and Hermon shal reioyse in thy name

⁵ The Lorde vpon thy ryghte hande, shall smyte euen kinges in the daye of hys wrath. ⁶ He shall be iudge amonge the Heathen, he shall fyl them wyth deade bodyes, and smite in sunder the heades ouer diuerse countres.

¹⁰ All Heathen compassed me round about but in the name of the lorde wyll I destroye them. ¹¹ They kepe me in on euery side, but in the name of the lord, I wyll destroy them. ¹² They came aboute me lyke bees, and wer as hote as the fyre in the thornes, but in the name of the Lorde I wyll destroye them.

³ Like the dewe of Hermon, which fell vpon the hil of Sion. For there the Lorde promysed hys blesyng, and lyfe for euermoe.

¹⁰ He hath no pleasure in the strengthe of an horse, neither deliteth he in any mans legges. ¹¹ But the Lordes delyte is in them that feare hym, and put their trust in his mercy.

⁶ Let the prayses of God be in their mouth and sharpe swerdes in their handes. ⁷ To be auenged of the Heathen, and to rebuke the people. ⁸ To bynde their Kynges in cheynes, and their nobles with lynckes of yron. ⁹ That they may be auenged of them, as it is written, such honour haue all his saynctes. Prayse the euerlastynge.

⁷ Who so leadeth a godly and an innocent lyfe, happy shal his chyldren be whome he leaueth behynde hym.

⁸ Come to me from Lybanus, O my house, come to me from Libanus come soone the next way from the top of Amana, from the top of Sanir and Hermon, from the lyons dennes & from the mountaynes of the leopardes.

⁹ And so he sayde: go, and tell thys people: ye shall heare in dede, but ye shall not vnderstande, ye shall playnelye se, & not perceyue. ¹⁰ Harden the hart of thys people, stoppe theyr eares, and shutte theyr eyes, that they se not with theyr eyes, heare not wyth theyr eares, and vnderstande not wyth theyr hertes, and conuerte and be healed.

⁹ Go together ye people, and gather you, herken to all ye of farre countreyes. Mustre you, & gather you: mustre you and gather you,

¹ In the same yeare that Tharthan came to Asdod, where Sargon the kynge of the Assirians sent him, what tyme as he also beseged Asdod, and wanne it the same season.

¹¹ Lorde, they wyll not se thyne hye hande, but they shall se it, and be confounded: when thou shalte deuoure them with the wrathe of the people, & wyth the fyre of thyue enemyes.

¹⁶ Notwithstandynge ye regarde it not, but ye wyll saye: No, for thus are we constrayned to fle vpon horses. And therfore shall ye fle, we muste ryde vpon swift beastes, and therfore youre persecutours shal yet be swyfter.

¹ Wo be vnto them that go doune into Egypte for help, and trust in horses, & comforte themselues in charettes, because they be many, & in horse men because they be lusty & strong. But they regarde not the holy one of Israel, and they aske no question at the Lorde.

² When thou wentest in the water, I was by the, that the stronge floudes shuld not pluck the awaye. When thou walkest in the fyre, it shall not burne the, and the flame shall not kindle vpon the.

⁵ that thou shuldest not feare, for I was wyth the. I wyll brynge thy sede from the East, and gather the together from the West. ⁶ I wyll saye to the North, let go. And to the South, kepe not backe: but bringe me my sonnes from farre, and my daughters from the endes of the worlde: ⁷ Namelye, all those that be called after my name: For them haue I created, fasshyoned, and made for myne honoure.

²³ The hylles fal, and al the hye pryde of the mountaynes, but the healthe of Israel standeth onely vpon God oure Lorde.

²³ Moreouer, thus sayeth the Lorde: Let not the wyse man reioyse in his wisdome, nor the stronge man in hys strength, neyther the ryche man in hys ryches:

¹⁸ For thus sayth the Lorde: Beholde, I will set vp Iacobs tentes agayne, and defende his dwellynge place. The cytye shalbe buylded in her olde estate, and the houses shall haue theyr ryghte foundacyon.

⁶ Then went Ieremy vnto Godoliah the sonne of Ahicam to Mazphah, & dwelt there with him among the people that were left in the lande.

¹⁰ Beholde, I dwell at Mazphah to be an officer in the Caldees behalfe, & to satisfye such as come to vs. Therfore gather you wine, corne and oyle, & kepe them in youre ware houses, & dwell in youre cities that ye haue in kepynge.

³ Ismael also slewe al the Iewes, that were wtth Godoliah at Mazphah, & all the Caldees that he founde there waytynge vpon him.

¹⁴ So all the people of that Ismael had caryed away from Mazphah, were broughte agayne. And when they returned, they came to Iohanan the sonne of Careah.

²³ Namely, vpon the hye hill of Syon wil I plante it: that it may brynge forth twigges, and geue frute, and be a greate Cedre tree: so that all maner of foules maye byde in it, and make their nestes vnder the shadowe of hys braunches.

¹ Thou sonne of man, prophecie vpon the mountaynes of Israel, & speake: Heare the worde of the Lorde, O ye mountaynes of Israell: ² Thus sayeth the Lorde God: Because youre enemye hath sayde vpon you: A ha, the hye euerlastynge places are now become ours: ³ prophecye therfore, and speake: thus sayeth the Lorde God: Seynge ye be wasted & troden downe on euery syde, and become a possessyon vnto the resydue of the Gentyles, whych haue brought you in to mens mouthes & vnto an euell name amonge the people:

⁸ And as for you (O mountaynes of Israell) ye shall shute out your braunches, and brynge forth youre fruyte to my people of Israell, for it is hard by, that it wyll come.

⁹ They that dwell in the cyties of Israel, shall go forth & set fyre vpon the weapens, & burne them: shyldes & speres bowes and arowes, bylles & clubbes: seuen yeares ¹⁰ shall they be burnynge therof, so that they shall els bringe no styckes from the felde, nether haue nede to hew downe eny out of the wodde: For they shal haue weapens ynow to burne. They shall robbe those that robbed them, & spoyle those that spoyled them sayeth the Lorde God.

³ Assur shalbe no more oure helper, nether wyl we ryde vpon horses any more. As for the worckes of our handes, we wil no more cal vpon them: For it is thou that arte oure God, thou shewest euer mercye vnto the fatherlesse.

⁹ Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, that was as hye as the Cedre trees, and as stronge as the okes: notwithstandynge I destroied his frute from aboue, and his rote from vnder.

² The borders of Hemath shalbe hard therby, Tyrus also and Sidon, for they are verye wise.

²³ Wo be to you Scribes and Phariseis, hypocrites, which tythe mynte, anyse and commen, and leaue the wayghtyer matters of the lawe vndone: iudgement, mercy, and faythe. These ought ye to haue done, and not to haue lefte the other vndone.

³⁹ And Mary arose in those dayes, & went into the mountaines with hast, into a cytye of Iurye,

¹ It came to passe as the people preased vpon him to heare the worde of God, that he stode by the lake of Genezareth:

⁴² But wo be to you Pharyses: for the tyth the mint and rew, and al maner herbes, and passe ouer iudgement and the loue of God. These ought ye to haue lefte the other vndone.

²⁰ and howe I kept backe nothyng that was profytable, but that I haue shewed you, and taughte you openlye, and at home in your houses,

²⁷ For I haue kept nothynge backe, but haue shewed you all the counsell of God.

¹⁸ So hath he mercie on whom he wyll, and whom he wyll, he maketh harde herted.

²² Euen so God wyllynge to shewe his wrath, and to make his power knowen, suffered wyth longe pacience the vessels of wrath, ordeined to damnacion, ²³ that he myght declare the riches of his glory on the vesseles of mercye, whiche he had prepared vnto glorye:

² for ye youre selues knowe perfectly that the daie of the Lorde shall come euen as a thefe in the nyght. ³ When they shal say peace and no daunger, then commeth on them soden destruccion, as the trauaylynge of a woman wyth chyld, and they shal not escape.

⁷ I haue fought a good fyght, and haue fulfylled my course, and haue kepte the fayth. ⁸ From henceforth is layde vp for me a croune of ryghtuousnes which the Lorde that is a ryghtuous iudge shall geue me at that daye: not to me only, but vnto all them that loue hys comynge.

⁸ For yf Iosue had geuen them reste, then woulde he not afterwarde haue spoken of another day. ⁹ There remayneth therfore yet a rest to the people of God.

² And I sawe, and beholde there was a whyte horsse, and he that sate on him had a bow, & a croune was geuen vnto him, and he went forth conquerynge and for to ouercome.

¹⁴ For they are the spirites of deuils working miracles to go out vnto the kinges of the earth, & to the whole worlde to gather them to the batayle of the greate daye of God almighty.

¹¹ And I sawe heauen open, & beholde a whyt horsse: and he that sate vpon hym was faythful and true, & in rightuousnes dyd he iudge & make battayl. ¹² His eyes were as a flame of fyre, and on hys head were manye crounes, and he had a name wrytten, that no man knewe but he hym self. ¹³ And he was clothed with a vesture dipt in bloud, & his name is called the worde of God. ¹⁴ And the warryers whiche were in heauen, folowed hym vpon whyte horsses, clothed with whyte & pure raynes: ¹⁵ & out of hys mouthe went out a sharpe swearde, that with it he should smyte the heathen. And he shal rule them wyth a rod of Iron, & he trode the wine fat of the fiercenes & wrath of almightye God. ¹⁶ And hath on hys vesture & on hys thighe a name wrytten: king of kinges, & Lord of Lordes, ¹⁷ And I sawe an angel stand in the sunne & he cryed wyth a loud voyce, saiyng to al the foules that flye by the myndes of heauen come & gather youre selues together vnto the supper of the great God, ¹⁸ that ye may eate the flesh of kinges, & of hye captaynes, & the fleshe of myghty men, and the flesh of horsses, & of them that sit on them, & the flesh of all free men & bonde men, & of small & great. ¹⁹ And I sawe the beast and the kynges of the earth, & theyr warriers gathered together to make battayl against him that sat on the horse & agaynst hys souldyers. ²⁰ And the beast was taken, & with hym that false prophete that wrought miracles before him with which he deceyued them that receiued the beastes marke, & them that worshipped his Image These both were cast into a ponde of fyre burnyng with brimstone: ²¹ and the remnaunte were slayne with the swerd of him that sate vpon the horse, which swerd proceded out of his mouth & all the foules were fulfilled with their flesh.
