⁴ Doeth not he se my wayes, and tell all my goynges. ⁵ Yf I haue cleaued vnto vanitie or yf my fete haue runne to disceyue: ⁶ let me be weyed in an euen balaunce that God may se my innocency.

⁸ The Lord is iudge ouer the people: auenge me then (O Lord) accordynge to my ryghtuousnes and innocency. ⁹ Oh let the wickednes of the vngodly come to an ende: but maynteyne the iust, thou rightuous God, that triest the very hertes and the reynes.

³ Thou hast proued & visited myne herte in the night season: thou hast tryed me in the fyre: & hast founde no wickednes in me: for I vtterly purposed that my mouthe shoulde not offende.

¹⁰ Euen I the Lorde search out the grounde of the herte, & trye the reynes, and rewarde euery man accordinge to hys wayes, and acordynge to the fruyte of his councels.

³³ For he doeth not plage, & cast out the chyldren of men from his herte.

⁴⁰ And the kinge shall aunswere and saye vnto theym: verelye I saye vnto you: in as much as ye haue done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye haue done it vnto me.

⁷³ And after a whyle came vnto hym they that stode by & sayde vnto Peter: surely thou art euen one of them, for thy speache bewrayeth the. ⁷⁴ Then beganne he to corse and to sweare that he knew not the man. And immediatly the cocke crewe. ⁷⁵ And Peter remembred the wordes of Iesu whiche sayed vnto hym: before the cocke crowe, thou shalt deny me thryse. And went out at the dores and wept bitterlye.

⁷² And agayne the cocke crewe, and Peter remembred the worde that Iesus sayed vnto hym: before the cocke crowe twyse, thou shalte denye me thyrse, & began to wepe.

⁶¹ And the Lorde tourned backe and loked vpon Peter. And Peter remembred the wordes of the Lorde, howe he sayed vnto him, before the cocke crowe, thou shalt denye me thryse. ⁶² And Peter wente out, and wepte betterlye.

²⁴ but Iesus put not himself in their handes, because he knewe all men, ²⁵ and neded not that any man shuld testyfy of man. For he knew what was in man.

⁸ The poore alwayes shall ye haue with you, but me shall ye not alwayes haue.

³⁸ Iesus aunswered hym: wilte thou geue thy lyfe for my sake? Verelye verelye I saye vnto the, the cocke shall not crowe, tyll thou haue denyed me thryse.

¹⁵ Yf ye loue me, kepe my commaundementes

¹⁰ Yf ye shal kepe my commaundementes, ye shall byde in my loue, euen as I haue kepte my fathers commaundementes, and abyde in hys loue.

³⁰ Nowe knowe we that thou vnderstandest all thynges, and nedest not that any man should axe the any question. Therfore beleue we that thou camest from God.

⁴ Then Iesus knowing all thynges that should come on hym, wente forth, and sayed vnto them: whom seke ye?

²⁷ Peter denyed agayne, and immediatlye the cocke crewe.

¹⁵ When they had dyned. Iesus sayd to Simon Peter: Simon Ioanna, louest thou me more then these? He sayd vnto him: ye Lorde thou knowest that I loue the. He saide vnto him: fede me lambes. ¹⁶ He saied to him again the seconde tyme? Simon Ioanna, louest thou me? He saied vnto him: yea Lorde thou knowest that I loue the. He saied vnto him: fede me shepe:

²⁴ And they praysed saiynge: thou Lorde whyche knowest the hertes af all men, shewe whether of these two thou hast chosen,

⁸ And God which knoweth the herte bare them wytnes, and gaue vnto them the holy ghost, euen as he dyd vnto vs:

¹² Oure reioysinge is this, the testimony of oure conscience, that in synglenes and Godly purenes, and not in fleshely wysdome, but by the grace of God, we haue had oure conuersation in the worlde, and moste of all to youwardes.

⁴ For in great affliction and anguyshe of herte I wrote vnto you with many teares: not to make you sory, but that ye myght perceyue the loue which I haue most specially vnto you. ⁵ Yf anye man haue caused sorowe the same hath not made me sory, but partelye: leaste I shoulde greue you all. ⁶ It is suffycyente vnto the same man, that he was rebuked of many. ⁷ So that nowe contrarywyse ye ought to forgeue hym, and comforte hym: leaste that same persone shoulde be swalowed vp, with ouer muche heauynes.

⁸ Wherfore thoughe I made you sory with a letter, I repent not, though I dyd repent. For I perceyue that, that same Epistle made you sory, thoughe it were but for a season. ⁹ But I nowe reioyce, not that ye were sory, but that ye so sorowed, that ye repented. For ye sorowed Godlye, so that in nothyng ye were hurt by vs. ¹⁰ For Godly sorowe causeth repentaunce vnto saluacyon, not to be repented of: when worldlye sorowe causeth death. ¹¹ Beholde, what diligence thys Godlye sorowe that ye toke, hath wroughte in you: yea it caused you to cleare your selues. It caused indignacyon, it caused feare, it caused desyre, it caused a feruent mynde, it caused punyshement. For in all thynges ye haue shewed your selues that ye are cleare in that matter.

⁸ Thys saye I not as commaundyng: but because other are so feruente, therfore proue I youre loue, whether it be perfecte or no. ⁹ Ye knowe the lyberalytie of oure Lorde Iesus Christe, whiche though he were ryche, yet for youre sakes became pore that ye thorowe hys pouertye myght be made ryche.

³⁰ And greue not the holye spirite of God, by whom ye are sealed vnto the daye of redemption.

⁶ in the whiche tyme ye shall reioyce, thoughe nowe for a season (yf nede requyre) ye are in heauynes, thorow manyfolde temptacyon,

¹² Wherfore I wyll not be negligente to put you alwayes in remembraunce of such thynges, though that ye knowe them your selues, and be also stablyshed in the presente trueth. ¹³ Notwithstanding I thinke it mete, (as long as I am in this tabernacle) to stere you vp by puttynge you in remembraunc ¹⁴ for as muche as I am sure how that the tyme is at hande, that I must put of my tabernacle, euen as our Lord Iesus Christ hath shewed me. ¹⁵ I wil enforce therfore that on euerye syde ye myght haue wherwith to stere vp the remembraunce of these thynges after my departinge.

¹ This is the seconde epistle that I nowe wryte to you (beloued) wherwith I stere vp & warne youre pure myndes, to cal to remembraunc

¹⁶ Hereby perceyue we loue, that he gaue hys lyfe for vs, & therfore oughte we also to geue our lyues for the brethren. ¹⁷ Whosoeuer hath this worldes good, and seeth his brother haue nede, and shutteth vp his compassion from him, howe dwelleth the loue of God in hym? ¹⁸ My babes, let vs not loue in worde neyther in tonge, but wyth the dede and in veryty: ¹⁹ For therby we know that we are of the verytye, and can before him quyete oure hertes. ²⁰ But if our hertes condempne vs, God is greater then our hertes, and knoweth all thinges. ²¹ Beloued, yf our hertes condempne vs not, then haue we trust to Godward, ²² and whatsoeuer we are, we shall receiue of him, because we kepe his commaundementes, and do these thinges, which are pleasyng in hys sight. ²³ And this is his commaundement, that we beleue on the name of his sonne Iesus Christ and loue one another, as he gaue commaundemente. ²⁴ And he that kepeth hys commaundementes, dwelleth in hym and he in him, & therby we know that there abydeth in vs of the spyryte, which he gaue vs.

⁷ because that for his names sake they wente forth, and toke nothinge of the Gentiles. ⁸ We therfore ought to receyue suche, that we also myght be healpers to the trueth.

²³ And I will kyl her chyldren wyth death. And all the congregacions shal know, that I am he, whiche searched the reynes and hertes. And I will geue vnto euery one of you according vnto youre workes.

¹⁹ As manye as I loue, I rebuke and chastes. Be feruent therfore and repente.
