¹⁴ It was the Saboth euen which falleth in the easter feast, and about the sixt houre. And he sayed vnto the Iewes. Beholde your kynge.

⁶² The nexte daye that foloweth good fryday the hye pryestes and phariseis gothe them selues to Pilate

²⁵ And it was about the thyrde houre, and they crucyfyed him.

³³ And when the syxte houre was come, darcknes arose ouer all the earth vntyll the ninthe houre. ³⁴ And Iesus cryed with a loude voice saying: Eloi Eloi lamasabaththany, whiche is if it be interpreted, my God my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

⁴² And now when night was come (because it was the euen that goeth before the Saboth)

⁵⁴ And that same day was the Saboth euen, and the Saboth drwe on.

³ & sayde: hayle kyng of the Iewes: and they smote him on the face.

⁵ Then came Iesus forthe wearynge a croune of thornes and a purple robe. And Pylate sayde vnto them: Beholde the man.

¹⁹ And Pylate wrote hys tytle and put it on the crosse. The wrytyng was Iesus of Nazareth, kynge of the Iewes. ²⁰ Thys tytle red manye of the Iewes. For the place where Iesus was crucifyed, was nye to the cytye. And it was wrytten in Hebrue, Greke and Latyn. ²¹ Then sayde the hye priestes of the Iewes to Pylate. Wryte not kynge of the Iewes: but that he sayde. I am kyng of the Iewes. ²² Pilate aunswered: what I haue wrytten that haue I wrytten.

³¹ The Iewes then because it was the saboth euen, that the bodyes shoulde not remayne vpon the crosse on the saboth day (for that Saboth daye was an hye daye) besought Pylate that theyr legges myghte be broken, and that they myghte be taken doune. ³² Then came the souldyers, and brake the legges of the fyrst & of the other, which was crucified with Iesus.

⁴² There layde they Iesus because of the Iewes saboth euen, for the sepulchre was nye at hande.
